What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

If I'm not mistaken, you can operate a light bar if it is below your headlights?

I just had a local buddy build up a harness and relating equipment for my 20" light bar and ditch lights this weekend. We installed it w/ a Paranoid Fab switch panel. I placed the fuse block and relays in the top left space under the hood with plans to build an aluminum bracket for it all to sit on (its just resting on the wheel well at the moment). I can get photos later for you if you'd like.

Here's a thread for some overhead consoles w/ the stated wiring harnesses he's building right now. I'm sure he could build up something similar to my set up for you if needed. He's also working on a write up for it all:

No. Don't do that.

If you want it to run off your head lights. You can tap the hot wire from the head lights to fire a separate relay for the bar. You could also use a double throw switch to make it so the stock head light switch fires it or you can manually Fire it or turn it off from the head lights. Id go that route, as believe it or not. You won't want it on all the time.

Yeah I got new ones coming from Brian at Camelback. They are only like $1.50 each.

 

Oh. It took me 4 months to swap from a blown 2.7 to a 3.4 with a 4x4 converstion. I also added the long travel kit. Since it was down. We were just happy the motor started. If you check out my build you'll see all the headache that came with it.

 

Okay my CB is being a beotch! It's grounded directly to the battery but ivplugged the hot into the fuse block! But when I honk or press the power door lock/unlock the sound comes through my CB as in I can hear it on my CB speaker! I tried switching the hot directly to the battery and it still does it! I have no idea what is going on????? Someone help lol! Especially @Blackdawg you're the tacomworld electrician lol

 

Should have the cb wired straight to the battery no matter what.

Idk how you have the power run through the truck but something is being induced into the signal. Try getting am rf choke for the power and ground wires. Will help.
