Maybe that can be something we look into next hunting season. :D Maybe by then I'll have the OGT straightened out and my cash reserves will recover, haha.

They were in love with my turd gen. Surprised I was out there doing what I was but they were impressed at what it did. I'll touch base in the Florida thread about it and gauge interest

Rgr that. I think the Annual Citrus meet might be my last wheeling trip for the season with the way I'm hemorrhaging cash trying to get the OGT road worthy again. After I replaced the outer tie rod end and cv axle I tore up at Hardrock back in December, my left front tire still had play in it. I popped the boot off the steering rack this morning and had Mom wiggle the tire while I watched to see what was moving. Turns out damn near everything. the brand new inner tie rod I just replaced in November is toast and the piston on the steering rack was moving all over the place.

Fortunately the inner tie rod is lifetime warrantied, but I'm going to have to get a new style steering rack guide from Toyota to hopefully eliminate the steering rack play. While I'm at it, I'm going to go ahead and replace the outer tie rod end with the beefier-looking, greaseable Moog unit to match the new one on the passenger side. With any luck, that will cure my frontend issues for the foreseeable future. :bananadead:

Oh, and then there the little matter of a blown rear shock...:frusty:

Not sure that would help. There's a dent in the side of the shock where it hits the spring when it's fully articulated with the right tire stuffed. What it's really time for is to do a ubolt flip so I can move the shock away from the spring a little. In fact, if I don't wind up going to Gulches (which is looking less likely every time I find another issue with the OGT) I might just make that my next mod.

I wanna get the top plates like you got from Rough Stuff (?), but IIRC, they don't really sell a ubolt flip kit, so I'd still need to source the proper ubolts and lower shock mounts. Not only that, I wanna make it all complicated by drilling new center pin holes in my spring perches to relocate my axle aft about an inch. And I'd need new bumps that work with the new top plates.

Then I might try to cough up the cash to get a set of Icons for the rear.

I already have a nasty case of axle wrap since I put that locker in, but (and I might be wrong about this) relocating that axle shouldn't make it any worse. It's still going to be clamped the full length of the perch. It's just the alignment pin will be a little further forward.

If Rough Stuff had a flip kit I'd be all over it. They probably have all the parts, just not in one kit. And I like your top plate better than APs since it has the bends on the ends. Not only would that make the plate more rigid, but it would also prevent stress concentrations on the springs at the ends of the plate. That and they have the extra center pin holes for moving the axle.

I sat in a 3rd Gen Sunday (I was tuning his CB antenna for him). It's nice. I like the new dash a lot.

Why is everyone getting them in that rust red color though? :p I'd get the sand color if I was going to get one. (Or black so I could have it wrapped or painted OD green and have the black door openings show when you opened the door.)

Haha, that wouldn't work for me. :D It'd be covered in mud after the first puddle I went though and then probably get wiped off by the wipers that I had to use to see where I was going. Same issue with the side windows. But then again, it probably wouldn't be necessary for me anyway. I can almost guarantee I'd be the only flat OD green 1st on Swampers there.

@Acerwin could make us some decals!! :D

That would be sick so all of the photos of the trip would have all the rigs names.

Pretty sure we will all recognize most of the trucks though
