PA15-TOY Ipod adapter......

I was looking at buying one. I use a Monster FM Transmitter, but I hate that thing when the wife and I drive to PHX. The stations change too much on the way. I might buy one when I get back from training in from the Army in August.

 

I bought one a few days ago from Crutchfield and it is supposed to be here at the end of the week. I am tired of not being able to listen to my iPod. I am very eager to get it.

 

I totally agree with you, chris! This thing is pretty amazing. I routed mine to the glove box, though, which I think was kind of a mistake since I have to reach over to get to the iPod. I like your idea of using the little cubby on the left of the steering wheel. I might have to move mine now.

 

Is the cable long enough to route into the center console? There are those little square holes at the bottom that the cable could go through.

 

I'm not sure...it looks pretty close. I just don't know how you're going to feed the smaller end of the cable through those holes, unless you drill out a bit. I'll have to take a look at that.

 

The holes are about an inch wide. Under the carpet inside the console. If not you could make the hole bigger, it gets covered up by the carpet liner.

 

Oh, an inch should be plenty. Still not sure about the cable, but I bet it depends on where you place that white box...that way, you will for sure have enough cable length to make it to the center console.

 

I will order one and try it, if not I can put it somewhere else I guess.

Is the system easy to use with the stereo controls? I have seen people show how they work on Youtube, but havent met someone in person that uses one.

 

Yes. Should be a pretty good place for the iPod...I have a Nano.

Absolutely! Volume controls work well, you can skip or repeat a song, and the you can still change between your sources. On the stock CD player, you use the CD changer button to go through playlists. The TEXT button is also pretty cool...you can switch between artist name and song name. It's a pretty neat little device and I'm very happy with the performance and sound.

 

Thats cool! Sounds better than using the Ipod controls while driving.

bauermike, in the meantime, or in the interest of saving money, try using 105.1FM while driving in tucson, phoenix and in between. After playing around for awhile this station seems to work the best with our I-pod fm transmitter.

 

I dont get that station with the Monster Transitter. The closest one is 107.9. Which works great in Tucson, but once you get to Picacho Peak, I have to change the station.

 

I blame the ostriches.

 

i installed one yesterday and its amazing i can control the ipod through my radio/cd player i love it

 

HAHA I get annoyed just looking at those things on the side of the road.
