Kinda. I eat higher GI foods when I first wake up and pre and post workout. Other than that, It's usually low GI stuff.

Chocolate fudge. I eat one every morning

Same. I've gone over 135 a few times, but I could just feel my shoulder warning me to calm my ass down lol.

That's incredibly impressive to me. I don't go over 185 just because at that point I am losing form and feeling the lift in all the wrong places. Most guys in my gym can't/won't go over 135...that should give you some confidence boost. I started working on OHS again....my god. Such a core demanding movement.

    Thanks for the kind words,

Funny thing is, i mostly feel it in my mid upper back, not so much my shoulders or core. If you front squat often, which i used to allot before my knee pooched it really helped me with a good base.

My wrists are about all that takes a beating with presses, but I'm gonna keep going and hope to join the 300club strict. OHP is quite easy if your not under a strict rule or staggered legs but then its almost like a olympic jerk and becomes substantially easier.

so just to confirm im on the same page here, you'll go for a lift session... spike your insulin post lift, and then within 30min of the lift you'll have a solid meal of carbs+Protein to prevent any further catabolic breakdown correct?

You're overthinking it, brotha. Just eat, lift, and sleep. Insulin and all that doesn't matter when you break it down to a day-to-day thing. Your body doesn't start breaking down muscle until 48+ hrs after its already expended all other resources. I could literally take in all my daily calories at once and I'd be no better off than If I were eating every 2-3 hours. The only benefit timing carbs has is for energy.

TLDR: if you're not juicing, insulin spiking is dumb

I've been off pre workout since Xmas eve. I know that stuff is probably 90% in my head but my workouts have been lacking without it.

    I agree with this
I don't think it's all in your head. It does make a difference imo but you do build a tolerance to it so I like to cycle it. I bet if you get back on it now your change in performance will be like night and day. Kinda like Russell Wilson's performance in the first and second half.

I've got to take my buddy to the airport later which is 5min from Vitamin Shoppe. Been waiting for a reason to be out that way so I could replenish my stash

Yep Brier Creek right? I was just there the other day. Although I usually go to the one on six forks. I still have my 50 dollar gift card. It'll be between whey or pre workout for me.

Geezus. When you hear some douche canoe giving terrible advice in the gym and people are taking in every word. I just want to go over and slap him in the face with a 45.

This guy was streaming his workout on some app on his phone. Front squats with 95 lbs for sets of 6-8. And not pretty ones.

I get a good laugh at the gym almost daily.....we have one regular that does cable lat pulls like a rowing machine. I gotta get it on video. The form is spectacular!

I hate working out without a pre. My tolerance is so high right now, though, that I really need to take a month or so off.

    Do eeeeeit!
