So I went to the local Toyota dealer and looked at what they had. I already knew what I wanted, TRD Off Road with Premium and Tech package. I want Quicksand, but if I find the right price on another color then so be it. Well they only had a TRD Sport in 4x4, so I test drove it. Loved the ride, but apparently they don't let you test drive it by yourself, so I really didn't get to go over all the features in detail. Should be picking one up this summer.

Back home they do. At least the Honda dealer where I bought my car from did. Nicer not to have someone yapping the whole time and you don't feel rushed.

My dealership let me test drive solo. Initially, I test drove a 2wd sport....then a 4x4 sport. I ended up ordering my trd or from them. I did purchase my 2015 from them earlier that year, but they also let me test drive the 2015 solo.

OP, I like your taste. TRD OR quicksand is a fine choice....white would be my second pick....third choice is black.

I can only assume it's due to being located right outside a military installation. Might be due to a lot of young soldiers trying to buy cars. Still annoying for those like me who are over 25. Oh well. I'll be heading home to Ohio at the end of February and will hit the dealer there too.

I can't remember the last time I didn't test drive alone, or just my wife and I at least.

90% of the time maybe more, we allow customers to drive alone. Usually when they ride with you they are trying to gauge you, or they are desperate for the sale. But we also have almost every manufacture so odds are even if you dislike the vehicle you drove we can help you buy another vehicle you may have had your eyes on, without loosing you as a customer

That's a nice color combination with the OR package. Those can really look sharp between the sand paint and the black accents. Don't settle for the sport if your heart is on the OR. I drove both a Sport and a OR. I would have gotten the OR if they had had a new one in the lot they only had a sport which was fine. The drive was nice.

Agreed I've driven plenty of cars on test drives and never once has it been alone.

Back in December I had my 2011 in for Service and the Sales Manager let me take a 2016 back to work for the afternoon. I drove it all over. Not technically a "test drive", but I had it on my own for the afternoon.
