Hey guys, I bought my first Tacoma this past March (so I'm a noob) and I've been looking at Westin step bars for a little while. Basically I want to know if there is any legitimate difference between the E-Series and Signature series step bars (I want the black powder coated ones regardless of which line I go with). So far the only difference I've seen is price, and that Westin's website lists the signature ones as being 16ga. Anybody have some insight?

If you don't off road, get Nfabs. They look alot better than the westins.

I have Westin's and I'm getting NFabs before too long. Does that answer your question?

I have the E Series, btw, and I see no appreciable difference between the two.

If I'm not mistaken it's the material the steps are made of underneath the powdercoat. Plain steel vs. stainless.

I've only had the Platinum series which were chrome plated on my last two trucks. The Platinum series is stainless steel and then chromed or powder coated. The E and Signature series are reg. steel and thinner guage metal.
I think that the ones for the access or Xtra cabs turn into and bolt directly to the frame where the ones for the double cab are mounted to brackets that are mounted to the frame in four different places. Ten years on two trucks and the chrome held great with normal road wear in the form of small nicks in places. No rust at all. They mount even with the bottom of the frame so they don't take away ground clearance and help with preventing some door dings as well as making it easier to get in and out. I like them, some don't.
