Rebel has a deal of the week on Factor 55 prolinks for
    $140... should I buy?

Also my dad doesn't think I'm going to be able to tighten up my projector at all! I guess I'm gonna go look for some nylon washers...
    Anyone have ideas?

I like mine. Just measure your shackle opening first if you plan to use shackles you already have. My prolink measured 1 3/16". The ARB shackles (3/4") i had measured only 1 1/8". They would work together but not very well. I picked up some Van Beest shackles (3/4") to use as the primary shackles though and they fit just fine (1-1/4" opening)

Progress. Both projectors are securely mounted up with no play in the projector or the bulb :D Whew, dodged that bullet.

Now I gotta figure out how the hell to attach these halos to the front and back of my shrouds. Any tips or tricks from my retro'd friends?

$140 isnt really on sale either. I got mine off Amazon for 137 and right now you could get them for 145 or so. So if you are just getting it based on rebels deal of the day id pass

That looks interesting. But also looks like you have to run the rope through and splice it yourself. Which isnt bad, just if you have a standard rope already that would mean cutting the end off to be able to feed it through. Plus you are more or less stuck with that. if you wanted ot switch to a hook for hauling logs or something youd have to add a shackle or something. No knocking it as the price is nice and it looks solid, but it does have some downsides.

As for securing halos, i used a combo of JB weld and hot glue. Hot glue to set it in place, jb weld to really hold it on. Whatever method you do make sure its well done. Mine only had small dabs of jb weld in 2-3 spots and that wasnt enough as the halo fell off while bouncing around off road. Now its pretty much got 100% jb weld and its stayed on so far

Thanks for the input buddy. I might go with a flatlink anyways.

Gahh that's what I was worried about. I want them to hold up to what my front suspension can do. I also heard about mounting them with wire?

Like what @velillen said, you have to splice your own line for this type hence the lower price. Its a cool piece but id rather not splice my line unless i have to

I can think of a 1,000 other things I would rather spend $140 on than a thimble/flatlink. My hook works just fine, has been used extensively, and hooks to a shackle all the same.

I've heard of wiring them on but not sure. You'd have to ask one of the retrofit guys...I know one of them wires (a7 something is his name).

The jb weld has held up well for me. Long as you use enough I'm sure it'll hold up just fine.
