Lovin' all the access cabs! If I didn't love my '14 so much, I would definitely go for a 3rd gen TRD/OR/4x4/Access Cab...

Nice truck! I love the access cabs. I think they look the best. Anybody here trade in of sell their double cab for an access cab? I'm seriously considering it. I want the 6' bed.

You can get the double cab with a 6' bed.

I guess I am in the minority here, but my truck sits outside. I understand some folks can't let it sit outside for safety issues, but I treat my truck like a truck. Hell I haven't washed the damn thing since I bought it in July, and I abuse the shit out of it :D damn thing just keeps asking for more!

The garage is more for me than the truck. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Silver Sky looks real nice. I would not accept a dealer trade in Silver Sky so I went with the black. The 15 Colly I traded in was Silver but the paint was not a consistent shade of silver, looked wavy.

Loving my Access Cab! Had to squeeze someone in the back for a 5min drive once, no complaints. Only complaint of the access cabs is Toyota skipping on the bed light. Digging the black paint!

Jesus christ.... the amount of misinformation on paint and paint care on forums is astounding. Literally every 2016 Toyota in our country has a clearcoat.

Although there are some exceptions to this in niche and super super cheap markets, just about every car in the USA since the mid 90's has had a clearcoat due to environmental standards. It's a lot safer and cleaner to utilize from a production standpoint. Easy tip for someone who argues this is to go outside with a bottle of cleaner wax or compound, etc.... when you buff it into the paint, is your applicator the color of your car? If so, the color is being exfoliated because there's no clear coat. If you just see dirt and wax, you've got a clearcoat.

    Dear Mr. XXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

We appreciate the opportunity to address your inquiry.

The Black paint applied to your Tacoma is a single stage paint coating. Vehicles painted with non-metallic colors have no clear coat finish. Paint colors that are available in a metallic or pearl will have a clear coat finish.

We hope this information has been helpful.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us http://www.toyota.com/help/contactus.html.

    Sincerely,

    Ivette Moreno

Hahah yep, I've seen that posted a couple times now...

You're confusing single-stage / double-stage paint jobs with the concept of clearcoat / nonclearcoat paint jobs. They're not mutually exclusive. The topic in question here is whether or not there's clearcoat.

Yes, white is single stage like the rep is saying, but it has clearcoat mixed in.

I also have an AC, and looking to upgrade the sound system. There are several threads already, and good info about replacing door speakers and such, but I could not find a subwoofer for the access cab (except the one for previous generation Taco on the JL audio website). Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
