I'm running Dakars with the extra leaf. A few posts back you can see how much articulation you can get with the BAMF kit.

    I don't have any problems.

I saw those pictures. I am guessing that the overload leaf is what stops you from stuffing the last 2 inches as mentioned. I also think it is going to be hard to get that amount of stuff with both tires at the same time like you would experience hitting a bump at speed vs flexing like in the picture. When you flex it is only one side of overload leaves that have to flex. If the axle is compressing equally on both sides then you have to get both sides worth of overload leaves to flex.

That makes sense, but when I had the OME shocks I bottomed them out many times. I don't think the 12" Kings would change that unless I was bottoming out the shock itself. What I have is more down travel out of the whole setup.

Interesting. I can't even get close to bottoming out out my OMEs because of the overload springs. I can't even get to the bump stops. I realize that down travel will be increased with the 12" kings but ideally I would like to get all the uptravel out of my system I can regardless of the shock.

I'll look for a pic of me hitting the bumps with the OME Shocks, but on trips all weighed down I've hit the stocks bumps pretty good. I got the wheelers bumps and it's not the same harsh transition, but i have hit them.

My dakars must be super tough or I must not be wheeling hard enough. I have a ton of weight back there.

I don't wheel hard by any means, but I wish I had your Dakars! I've looked into getting stiffer ones which would be great for trips, but tough for daily driving.

I've got the Dakar pack, with probably 200# in the bed every day. Still a bit harsh, but add another 100#s and the ride is very nice.

I'm thinking of adding some weights from my gym just to improve the ride to work.

I can get the bumps to touch the frame but that's it, even loaded.

So did I get softies or what? I noticed it more when I got my swing out bumper. Fully loaded it feels like I'm towing a really heavy trailer. Add more junk in the bed and it's on the bumps on hard drops.

I think most of it has to do with having all that weight hanging off the back of truck (metal bumper (~100+), 85lb tire, highlift, two fuel cans, and a propane tank).

The only good answer I know of is to keep your weight consistent, and set up the suspension to handle it. If chose to set up for fully loaded with hunting/camping gear, and just live with it the other 50 weeks of the year.

The alternative would be to set up for every day, and have it suck when fully loaded. Or to change the setup when I'm going on a trip. I'm pretty sure HH6 would have my hide if I tried that solution though. YMMV :)

I completely agree. I've been trying to set it up for max weight duty and just deal with it on road, but I haven't been able to hit that point. Maybe my rear leafs are worn out?

    Or you're overloading?

The next step after Dakars is the AllPro Expo, supposedly supports more weight, or a set of custom Deavers.
