That's the only reason I don't have a swingout. I carry stuff longer then the bed (and I'm a longbed!). Nobody really made a swingout that they recommended removing and putting back one often.

 

I have a canopy, hauling is a problem anyways. Just open the rear window up and let it poke out. Or buy a full size pos dodge

 

You interested in making a few bucks? I'd like to get some jerrycan holders made up for in the bed. Wouldn't be hard I just don't have a welder

 

Is the plate cut already?

 

Truthfully the smithy built ones on ebay for 23 bucks are adaquate. They lock and build pretty well. You will spend more time and money on stock and labor than its worth. Unless you get some nasty 4x innovation ones. Those are sweet but 120 a pop

 

Those aren't bad. I've looked at them.

But I have a different idea for one and just haven't found one that fits. I'm wanting a sort of "two pack". But with them standing upright instead of laying them down. With a plate base so I can drill holes and mount it to the bed.

Sort of specific and not hard to make I just can't find something that fits what I'm looking for. Arb and front-runner make ones but they lay down the cans


I may just end up with the smittybilt ones and do one in each corner or something but I'm not sure.

 

I got a smittybilt one, its pretty good. You can make something that mounts it to the side rails, i just haven't yet.... mines zip-tied haha

The only problem is have with a swing out would be fitting my standup jetski or dirtbike in the back with the tailgate up.

Just looked it up, but didn't see anything for Washington.

I see a lot of trucks using undercarriage led kits, turning the two rear ones out and rigging the two rears ones to the reverse lights lol kinda crazy but looks nice. I have a kit i need to install but holy moly they take a lot more work than i thought
