Yeah we have talked about It a couple times in here.
Mine finally took a shit on me about 2 months ago. I havent dug Into it yet to figure out what is wrong with it. But if it comes to needing a new radio I will up grade aswell. It was a solid little set up but time for something different.
Like I just said. Its a nice radio. Perfect to get you up and talking. Dont worry about getting the model with the PA tho. Its cool for a week then never used again. For the most part

Not cheap (except the price). Its a great CB.. And fits anywhere (main reason I got it) it is just a bare minimum CB with basic features.

Edit: agreed on the PA.. Used it a lot a first.. But even with a small PA amp.. It's hard to hear. I was going to upgrade it to a 400w amp I have sitting in the garage.. But think I might just remove it completely.. and make room for a dual battery setup.

do you have to do special tuning on them?

i do like the compact size, part of the reason i don't want to use the one i have is its huge

Yes.. You have to tune every CB. It's a combination of using an SWR meter on the CB side.. And tuning the tip of the firestik.. If thats what you get.

I had a cap on mine when I put the antenna on. It comes out It of tge space on the tail gate and sits behind the bed below the where the cap would sit. You can also do a bracket in the hood ditch next to your lights

i wish it wasn't so ugly on the hood right there cause it would be easy as hell to run the cable
