Weekend before it was supposed to be a dusting, got 3"

 

That reminds me of when we got over 2 feet here a few years back. My old house the driveway was up hill to the street. When I went to bed, the said 6 inches total. If there was a big snow predicted, I'd always park at the top so I didn't have issues getting out for work. So I figured, Meh 6" is not a big deal with the truck. So I left it parked at the bottom. When I went to leave for work, I didn't see any news, or even look outside really. Open up the garage door and my face was like . Because as the door went up, I just kept seeing snow. "Oh shit" I did make an attempt to get up, but made it half way. That was with the Rugged Fails. Truck was only a month or so old. Sooooooo out came the shovel. Didn't care. Had a great excuse for being late to work and had a blast getting there!

I remember when Hurricane Andrew hit the state of Florida in August 1992. I remember taping my windows up and placing our bed mattresses against the windows. Most of our neighbors evacuated....not us
When I recall the most is when the eye passed over....I remember opening the front door, going outside, and experiencing absolute silence. Everything was so still & quiet. Yeah, not only was I the only person outside that I could see but, the barometric pressure dropped quite a bit as the eye passed over me. I think that's what made everything so still and what left me feeling as though I was on another planet or something.

 

It's only severe for the stupid who don't prepare. When it comes to snow.
