Thanks. Any photos with panel installed? Any chance of not having the rivets?

Buy it in steel and you won't have rivets ;) The rivets make the aluminum easier to assemble because they align and clamp the parts together. Trust me they might not do much for the finished strength but they won't hurt anything to have them on there.

Here is with the cover installed...

Are one of those two round holed for the oil drain plug?

Yessir, the hole at the rear of the front skid is for the oil pan.

Thanks for the pics. Not worried about the strength (because it is welded), just that the rivets are a bit unsightly and break up the really nice clean look of these skids. Of course, using them once and scraping them up will help me get over that.

Why they make it such a hassle. My 2015 has it right under the hood. Very easy.

Think I will just take my skid plate off. I don't go off road anyway. But that looks great!

Im at 3.5k and first time under the truck today but mainly to grease zerks. Planning to change oil at 5k.after taking it to the dealer.

What are the torque specs of those 12mm that hold the stock skid plate? Does it matter? Do you torque spec the drain bolt or just "feel" it?

Don't know anyone who torques drain bolts. Skid pan won't matter either. Or 1/4 turn before it breaks, ha.

I ordered the Amsoil oil filters: http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...stems/oil/amsoil-ea-oil-filters/?code=EA15K02

Granted, I haven't used them, but they look like the right ones. They come with the extras (o-rings and drain nipple) that the factory filters come with as well. I've always had good luck with these and I'm an Amsoil fanboy.

For the filter housing wrench, I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015PK3AG/

I'll also install a Fumoto valve during the 5K change. Let's hope this all fits and works as expected, right now I have a bunch of money sitting in cardboard boxes.

FYI for people doing their own oil change's.
I was told by the dealer the warranty will be voided if not serviced by the dealer under the free 2yr 25k Toyota care service.
    This includes oil changes.

Bullshit. Total bullshit. You can have any shop work on your truck, including doing oil changes. You can also do it yourself, just keep documents. This will not and can not void your warranty. Find a dealer who doesn't lie.

That's what I thought but he said it was newly implemented.
Not sure of the validity. Maybe a dealer can chime in.
I was told we need to bring it in to a Toyota dealer every 5k or 6 months or the warranty is voided.

In that case, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I'll sell you for cheap. Super cheap. You'll love it.

Don't believe everything people say, especially people who's job it is to make money off of you.
