I get free unlimited exterior car wash from the dealer and still I choose to wash it myself.

Since I bought my Taco new in 2012 I've only had it washed 3 times by someone else, afterwards it's all my business keeping it clean.
Plus you may think i'm strange but it works for me kinda like therapy

pro tip: never take a black vehicle through a car wash
take the time to do it yourself or go through a touchless wash

    True.

So hard to find good help these days. And I'm sure the wages, if any, are no incentive for the kid to care. That's were reasonable care would come into his favor...but probably impossible to prove.

I never said that once I just said it's a tiny scratch that's bound to happen at some point in its life and to count it as the first scratch and get over it. It's only going to get more as time passes. Can't keep a car brand new forever

You said a lot of ignorant things in this thread. And no, you can't keep a car or truck brand new forever but some of us prefer to keep it looking as best we can while we own it. If you don't mind scratches on your truck, great... but don't push your ideas of what a truck is and isn't onto other people like you tried to do in this thread, Dick.

Haha hey man I have the all black murdered out look I just actually use my truck for its intended perpose which is throwing shit in the bed and hauling shit around. A scratch is going to happen no matter what so stop crying and leave it alone. Like mater says they are memories good or bad but you can always look back at them.

Sounds like you got some sand in your vagina I'd try to help you out if I was a doosh bag but since I'm just a dick I'd ram it in harder and make you even more butt hurt. I'm not ignorant and wasn't pushing my ideas on anybody I just said it's bound to happen and to get over it if it's through the clear coat you can't fix it without repaint so why waste the money

He asked for opinions I gave him mine and as far as him taking it up the ass I guess I apologize? My intent was to tell the guy the shit is going to happen so leave it as the first especially if it's not that bad. And I'm sorry this is the I'm in titled to the entire world because I own a third gen and know everything about how to waste 40 k on an ugly ass "non work truck" with a mini van motor and then am even more entitled to bitch about all the problems it has:stirthepot::brianr:

Even if it color sands out, you're going to have spots where the paint is nice and flat (where the scratches were) and factory orange peel everywhere else. If you've got an eye for paint, it's going to look screwy unless the rest of your paint is really good. When you get a quote from the detailer, ask them about it and see if they will quote to cut the whole thing and even it out. If the car wash guy will pay, it'll end up looking better than ever - and better than any of ours for that matter.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Black is a very hard color to keep clean and relatively scratch free. Even when I wash and detail my trucks, I still find imperfections in my work. But, when you don't put your face on it, it looks pretty awesome.

As far as what I would do. I wouldn't let the shop wet sand it, because they clearly don't know how to wash a vehicle properly. If there's any legal recourse, maybe see if they would agree to having a reputable shop do the wet sanding. It may not get everything like it was, but it may minimize it.
