Im wanting to get the OME lift kit for my rig. I'm new to the whole lifting thing as in i dont know what kits/part are good and things like that. However, from what I've read on here a lot of people suggest the OME kit.

Cool thanks man. Looks like a good 2.75 worth of lift up front.

I debadged it, had to work a whole bunch and put on a K&N in time to deploy. Now my wife controls the money and hopefully I have enough when I get back to get her washed. Soooo... mods are in progress?
Ok, so this is 465 pages of info and I can't tell up from down any more. I was looking at this 'leveling kit' that ARB offers. Was looking for input. I am a long time Jeep wheeler, so I have a very methodical and calculated approach to wheeling. That being said, however, I want something that I can beat up some sand and mud with, and still drive it to work every morning (Something my Jeeps could never do).

I am not looking for serious lift, maybe a couple of inches (just enough to clear those low hanging obstacles and not damage the belly). I am more into functionality than form. If anyone can give me insight I would appreciate it. First time taco owner.

    Thanks for any help

Ome 887s, dakars, lr uca, sliders, konig countersteer,
Go with 885s springs and dakars in rear with ome shocks.. If you want a rake.. Or 887s and dakars in the rear to be level.. An aal might not get you the amount of lift you are thinking and won't last long term.. Here is my truck with 885 and dakars f6e4d169b0ef2047443f9c98754450e0_f1e2ca7880c9a17d8401c8fb84c6fd6cbfcec891.jpg

The 885 springs suggested above will net you that 2-2.5" mark. I went with the 887 springs to net closer to 2.5-3".

Here is how it looks with 30-31" highway tires.

Would you be so kind as to provide me with a 'no-shit here is what you need' via PM? I am on the ocean and my internet is sketch at best. I have some experience with lifting Jeeps and Chevy's, never a toyo. Could use all the help on this one.

I really don't want a lot of lift... I am going to a more durable 16X7.5 or 8, but I don't want to move into the 285's if I don't have to. I would rather keep a beefy 265/75/16 if possible, and when we start talking 3" I start thinking 285's.

This is what I did. Just pick which shocks and springs you want. Complete kit with Dakar leaf pack.
    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p201/Complete_Old_Man_Emu_Kit_w/_Dakar_Leaf_Pack.html

Just have to tell them which springs and whether you want stiff or soft shocks.

UCA's are not necessary if you do 885 springs.

To do 285's you'll need closer to that 3" plus some trimming to make them fit in the wheel well. Grinding and welding required for the "Cab mount chop".

Yeah, that's my point, nopes to all of that. I have no intention of doing epic jumps or taking pictures of my taco bigger than others. I just want something more durable with minimal impact to visual appearance.

i have 2.5" of lift on 285's and love it and i also ran 265's mud terrains for 2 years and had no complaints. i like the look of the 285's better tho.
