Paracord "Oh shit" handles [Tut]

Do keep in mind this isn't all new handles. It's just wrapping paracord around the factory handles. I've often wanted to wrap my oh shit handles in paracord and I've finally gone through with it. Haha.

What you'll need:
-50 feet of paracord(Double Cab).
-10mm socket
-Flathead screw driver
-patience

97-00 Tacomas:

I chose a very dark green to match the green paint in my truck.

To start, you'll want to remove all the handles in your truck. All you'll need is a 10mm deep socket and a flat head screwdriver to pop the plastic tabs off. Once you've got them off the truck you're ready to go.

After you've got both of the handles off you really just follow the video below. Or jump on google and find a pattern you like more than this one. Just search up "Paracord handle wrap".


I used this video as a huge guide on how to securely knot paracord to your handles.

After you've got the handles all wrapped, just reverse. Put the handles back on and BAM, the front handles are done.

If you've got a double cab, it's literally the same exact process for the rear. Pull the caps off the handles and pull the screws out with a 10mm. And go to town wrapping them in paracord.

Helpful hints:
- The front handles use 13 feet of paracord to wrap the entire handle.
The rear handles in a double use 10 1/2 feet each.

-Make sure you're pulling the loops tightly to make sure there's no loose spots.

-Although I didn't do this, paracord shrinks in hot water. So once you've got the handles all wrapped up it may be a good idea so it doesn't loosen up on you.

There are like dozens of styles but I think it will basically be the same as the axe handle wrap.
