Went good, had to rob the ground wire from the old wire harness. Cut the old plastic away from harness as much as possible, then used a solder gun to soften the plastic in order to get the delicate wire connector out. Then installed it in the new connector for the new wire harness. The plastic cover for the steering wheel was for another model, but you can use it for a template to cut a hole. So there was no showing of inner steering column wiring/lever I took a piece of bicycle rubber tubing about 6 inches round, with a small cross slit in the center slipped it over the stalk. Then popped the plastic cover onto the steering housing. If I had to do again would have bought the stalk on ebay $14, ordered the wire harness $7 and plastic steering cover predrilled $6 from Toyota. Wait... Did you replace a broken cruise control or add one to a Tacoma that didn't have it originally?

I work as a carpenter in cottage country. Steep hills down to the waterfront, zzzzzipp- splash!!

 

I decided to trim the drivers side corners off the cubby then it dropped right in. Easy! Thanks guys!

 

Added cruise control and also added windshield wiper switch. Along with an up graded used leather steering wheel, aftermarket header, muffler, plastic truck bed tool box, and exhaust tip resonator! Merry Christmas!

 

I recently added an intermittent wiper switch, as well. Soooooo much better.

I just got and in two minutes, installed my organizer... Tried being all gentle and it wouldn't go in. But the back end in first and when it wedged in, I smacked it. It fell right in and no scratches! Trust me, I had that moment of "this isn't going to work" but it does fit. No modification at all. Works great!

 

no stoppers installed , so far didn`t have any problem. 2x2 wood framing on the Under-side slightly rubs the upward grooves of the tail gate, just enough, slight friction.

Made an organizer for the huge center console. It's 1/4" thick mahogany free from work. And black spray paint I had.

Here's a little more progress on my cap rack and roof rack. I figured since I'll be needing to haul longer materials I wanted something that will be on the cab as well.


The plan is to have the front 12" and back 12" covered with plexiglass for ease of sliding heavy materials. The middle section will have 3 slotted bars for customizable locations for tied owns and such.

Haha, me either! It's been very slow going. I'm missing some parts to complete the build at the moment, I'm hoping to be able to pick them up at some point this week.
