Nah... Dremel, new hinges and a latch. Maybe some fiberglass or plastic welding. Doesn't appear that there are any wires going to the lid for any reason.

MSRP listed on their website is $599, so total will come out to $449 shipped. See this page:
    http://truckfridge.com/tf51.html

I'll update the first post to make it clearer- sorry for the confusion!

Added all new inquiries to the list.

A few important things I wanted to point out:

    - I limited the sign up to 25 orders, but given the flood of new members wanting to be added today I increased this to 30. After the limit is reached you will be waitlisted. The reason for the limit is because I personally have to take payment for each person, deposit it, wait for the funds to clear, then forward the payment over to Truck Fridge via certified funds/bank transfer. At 30 units this is already over $13k in orders, and the more orders I have the harder it becomes to manage. With that being said, I have THREE SPOTS still available if you want to be added.

    - If you want to drop off the list, please let me know ASAP so I can have someone else take your spot. Please don't be that person that holds up everyone else, because if I don't get a payment from you it holds up the order for EVERYONE. If you are on the fence still about ordering, please do us all a favor and give up your space in line or volunteer to be waitlisted.

    Thanks!

    ^^This.

Max is 25%. This was already increased from 20% that they quoted me originally.

Also, the conditions of this group buy outlined that in order to get the maximum discount possible, they would need the entire order filled at one time and via certified funds. This is because they wouldn't have to wait around for people to submit their cashier's checks/money orders/etc. to them before they started shipping out units (because they wouldn't know the discount amount until all orders were placed) and no CC payments due to processing fees.

So what are you going to buy with $13k in PayPal funds? I hear Fiji is nice this time of year. I'm free to go whenever if you have spare funds. :D

That being said, I didn't know there was a limit on the group buy. So throw me on the list before it's too late.

Tacoma World is by far the most expensive forum I've been on! But it's also saved money, just depends on how I want to look at it.

For those of us planning to use PayPal, does anybody know the cost of the fees they charge for purchases of goods?

No offense in any way to the OP, but with the amount of issues that have happened over buying items via TW in the past, I want to make sure that everybody stays secure with their purchase. I also want to make sure I pay the correct amount with fees included as to not slow down people receiving their fridges

According to the fee calculator, for an end result of $449, one must pay $462.72, "PayPal takes $13.72, those sharks"

That's based on 2.9% fee plus $0.30 per transaction.

Fiji is always nice except maybe monsoon season :)

No offense taken. PayPal is encouraged, and I'll be sure to update you guys every step of the way. I have an equally vested interest In making sure these orders go smoothly as well since I'm on the hook also.

    Thanks, that sounds about right.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
I'll take one of those spots. In!

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
Maybe I misread- but can't we gift the money to subvert the fee?
Similar to why we aren't using credit cards.

@PcBuilder14 I share your concern with recent events and money disappearing, and also no offense to @.45 JHP , just watching my much needed funds for this upcoming 3 week trip in May, of which this fridge is pivotal.

I assume we can get the money in and purchase made within 45 days [paypal discrepancy time frame]

Edit: just wanted to add a huge Thank You for putting this together.

NOTE to All: Add PAYPAL money to your account now, it takes some processing time [3-5 days] for the funds to move from your Bank of choice.

EDIT: Updated per PAYPAL terms of 3-5 days for Bank Transfer
