You know what sucks more than people who waste my time on used car sales sites? Nothing. Nothing much at all. 6 days of trading emails, answering a slew of questions, countering objections, doing their research on comparable trucks in the region, negotiating price, conforming to their schedule, arranging a mechanical inspection of their choosing and a personal viewing of the truck just for them to cancel 1 hour before and only then learning about this person being a 3rd party in the sale representing a family member. Just put me in touch with the buyer and get the hell out of our way. And I thought Craigslist was a pain in the ass.

Speaking of our buddy Craig, I was offered a timeshare in the South Pacific on trade and a $7000 trailer (billed as a RV), also on trade. Didn't I say "For Sale"? I countered with the idea we both keep our trucks and vacation swindle homes and a offer to straight swap a $6500 mountain bike currently valued at $1500 for the trailer yet surprisingly never heard back.

    Please pardon the rant.

The worst is "still for sale?!" emails. Especially when you confirm that it is, and get no response back.

and "What's your REAL price?". "Can you tell me more about it?" when you have 4 paragraphs describing the item is also fun. Of course the tits is "I'll have a driver come to pick it up. Do you take pretty rocks and IOU's?"

I'm so confused on the second half. There some sort of back story? I was good through the first half, and scarred shitless reading the second half. I am so sleeping with one eye open tonight. I'm scurred as fuck right now.

One thing I've also learned, don't put obo in the ad. Last time I did that I ended up with 5 or so incredibly low ball offers. I hate selling online, but eventually it pays off.

I've been trying to sell mine for a couple months now. I think selling around the holidays was a bad idea. Make sure you say "NO TRADES" in yours ads too. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked to trade. One guy asked if I wanted to trade for a "new 2015 chevy", but it was worth more than my asking price so I'd have to pay him some extra money..lol wtf, get outa here

Last year I was selling wheels. I had a dumb fucking child schedule an awkwardly timed meeting that made me miss work. He never showed. I proceeded to make another ad with similar wheels at a better price, close to his location. 53 emails and 3 meetings later, to which I never showed up, I sufficiently trolled him to the point of absolute meltdown. I'm going to wait another year or so before I post my massive story on the internet. It has every ingredient necessary for internet success - bukkake party invites, aquatic animals attacking, angry mom, etc. I ruined that kid's month in more ways than you can imagine. Sometimes, just sometimes, you may just end up screwing with the wrong CL guy. Some men just like to watch the world burn...

Nice! Love the Bro Wheel Tag by the way. May as well put TRD Off Road 4X4 stickers on a Prius. No, wait... that would be funny as hell!

It's shocking how prevalent that garbage wheel trend is. They're usually blacked-out in an obvious attempt to reflect a military-esque sense of masculinity, then they throw cute sparkly fake bolts around the lip. Like bedazzling your ak47 with crystals on the barrel. Tacky, heavy, ugly, and will absolutely die out as a trend rather quickly.

I have the worst luck selling wheels too, I had one guy reply and ask every question in the book about them. They were clearly written in the ad, but apparently he was too lazy to read it. He also asked for pictures, which were also in the ad. I sent pictures anyway and never heard back for a month until he proceeded to ask every question and ask for pics again. I magically sold them to a friend a day later as far as he was concerned. I just ended up painting them black and saying screw it. Not worth it for the 100 bucks I was asking for em.

LOL ... yup these are the spammer/scammmers ... mine offered me a YZF R1 Yamaha race bike that does 182 mph ...I was hopeful, but on the picture someone had welded about 2 feet extra onto the frame and stretched it into a drag bike. What was more incredible was that the same picture was the second link down on a google search and was a famous bike from some race rider celebrity. I was so excited about my luck; not everyday someone was offered a special vehicle like this from a celebrity and I could of had it for only $17,500 cash and my 1989 Ford Aerostar van with 195,000 miles on it. I was only asking $1000.00 for the van ....would have been a great deal for me ... especially if I was looking for a bike ... I guess when you sell and Aerostar it means you must want a bike ... LOL

Ive played the trying to sell my own car game before. Got tired of all the nonsense.

Sold my last Lexus to Carmax. In and out in 45 minutes. Walked out with a 30k check and the plates in my hands.

Gotta love the right off the bat, "What is the lowest price you will go?" Lol, Let me see. How about you "tell me what you are willing to pay, dumbass". Then, I decide if that's enough. That's how this works. If all I had to do in a car deal is ask what the lowest price is, and they would tell me, man that would be great. Doh.

I have completely given up on CL. I attempted to sell some basically new running boards from a CR-V for dirt cheap. I just wanted them out of my garage. Ultimately just gave them away due to CL nonsense. I did get some really good TMI emails regarding meeting and payment arrangements (nothing dirty, just so convoluted).

    Best of luck to you.

HAHA, yeah I'm going thru that shiat too. Trying to sell my '13 taco. What get's me is some folks lack of reading skills. And of course, being stood up is the worse. Until what happened to me the other day. Couple comes over to look at it, and then test drive it. They love it and the price too. So we agree and shake hands. They leave to go to the bank to get the cash, and I'm getting the truck ready....taking off the plates and getting the title out. Then I get a text from them. Here it is word for word; we are still undecided between buying new and yours. We know yours is a great deal and probably wont last long. I will be in touch with you soon either way. Thanks again. Well, talk about a mule kick in the groin! They gave me zero hint that they were going to do that. The horror.....

Yep!! It's why I left my brand new stock steel wheels and tires at Discount Tire after the swap to alloys and BFG's. It's just not worth fucking with these morons.

Actually I put in a very low price "OBO" for my 05 Vette. a It garnered a lot of attention at the lowball price but when they called I told them "I had a better offer they are welcome to beat". Lots of dealers were calling even though I said no dealers.

I took all the offers and numbers and told them it would be listed for 30 days and when 30 days was up, unless I got a great offer, I would call the people who put in better offers until I got it sold. Fortunately the eventual buyer did not want to wait 30 days and bought it for $1800 more than I listed it for. Was kind of like an Ebay sale without dealing with Ebay.

Call me lucky but I sold my F150 a little over a yr ago asking 16. Guys showed up with his mechanic friend and his friend went through it said it was solid. Buyer looks at me tries the "how firm are you on the price"...didn't even get a chance to respond before his mechanic friend said "hell don't waste your time wearing him down, if you don't buy this truck I'm buying it"

    Done deal
