FN FX Pro wheels

As a real life engineer, the simplified answer is aerodynamics, friction, and wieght. It all boils down to the amount of energy needed to get the tire rolling. Wieght is a big factor but the added friction from the tread profile along with the duromiter of the rubber makes a big difference.

I was going with the very simplified premise that with the big wieght savings with these rims over stock, there is a big advantage with rotating mass. This will help offset the added wieght of the tire. Its not one for one though as someone else mentioned. The further out the wieght is, the more it has an impact.

Now with the tire, c rated k02s will wieght more than the stock ones. But is your only gonna be at the 32 in range over the stock 31.5s, it's not going to have the impact as putting huge e rated k02s that a lot of people do.

You might not have needed all that, but it may help someone else understand better

I'm thinking of getting 17" black OEM TRD wheels for my quicksand OR. I'm going to stick to the 265/70/17 KO2s as I don't plan to lift or anything.

I searched and couldn't really find answer. Where is the cheapest place to get the OEM wheels? I see a dealer on Amazon that charging $875 shipped, tax free to Texas. Not sure if they come with center caps though.

It looks like 4 wheel parts has best deal on the tires. $746 out the door with free shipping and no tax.

 

No one? I thought I saw someone post that a dealer somewhere was selling them for around $750.

Even though this is a FN FX Pro wheel thread I'll share this with you...lol.. Found these SEMA TRD Pro style wheels on the bay for $599 shipped, I don't know anything about the quality.

Those are not TRDs, theres no part number, blank center caps and they are 8" rims. It even says aftermarket brand.

 

These are TRD Pro STYLE wheels they are 7" wide like the OEM'S.

 

Oops missed the size, I read the boxed size, not wheel size.

I've posted this elsewhere on TW, but here it is again.

I initially installed the coils as they came and without the spacer. This yielded only about 1" lift in the front and the 285's rubbed at mid lock. With the 3/4" spacer and additional 1/2" on the coils I got another 1-1/2" which leveled the front with the rear and no more rubbing.

 

Looks good. So its been over 2 weeks since the last time Dustin posted here, wonder why hes not stepping up and advising on fitment issues for those wanting the wheels without doing a lift?

So to clear 284-70-17, your total lift is 1.5"all around wih 3/4" wheel spacers?

 

The reason I bought from FN is because of Dustin's absurd volume of glowing reviews. I've never seen a business operator on a car forum get so much unilateral praise. And it was accurate. Dustin's the man!

No.

The fox coilovers only lifted it 1" in the front. Then I added the Toytec 3/4" strut spacer and raised the coil 1/2" to get about an additional 1 1/2". Total lift in front is about 2-1/2".

No wheel spacers.
