    Not yet, planning on diffs, transfer and trans in early April though. Got a 4k mile overland trip planned and want a decent amount of break in before swapping fluids.

    I have 3k now, thinking engine now, then others a month apart. I have to find a shop I actually trust, I won't certainly goto the stealership.

    so the "lsd" is just simulated through braking the slipping tire...correct? What about the locker? Again I'm really new still learning, be gentle....on second though nah..

    I have a friend who uses it in his wrx....yes he really uses it to do rally racing and he just abuses the drivetrain and has had no issues so...figured its overkill but rather have too much than not enough(protection)

    Mobil 1 (and other products) will work just as well, easier to find, cheaper. I SoloII'd for a number of years, on the 7.5k rev limiter regularly, hard launches, 100k on the odo, nary a tick. All OTC synthetics.

    Do some reading on Bobistheoilguy before laying your money down. Nothing wrong with RP per se, just not worth the premium.

    Royal purple is crap. I used it in a past vehicle and it burned quickly, switched to another synthetic and it got better.

    What's with people and trying to be cool with all this synthetic gimmicky shit.

    Synthetics go into ford GTs and Nissan GTRs. Your Tacoma doesn't know the difference.

    I'll stack my brother in laws 275k mile 4L 4runner that only sees conventional supertech, quakerstate, castrol, Valvoline against anybody whos wasted hundreds or thousands on synthetics. His exhaust and brake booster are failing, but the conventional oil using 4.0L runs like a buttered pig.

    Guess that is why the manual says 0W-20. I'll go with what the engineers that developed the 2.7 4 cylinder recommend.

    I did everything in my 13 eng/transfer/diff, probably about 15kish no issues. But got a good deal on some Valvoline so I put it in engine now.

    The guy who builds my (high revving), Av gas burning race bike engines swears by Rotella T6 5W-40 (yes, diesel engine oil).

    I know several people who run the Rotella T6 in every 4-stroke engine they own.

    That Rotella diesel oil doesn't break down inside the crazy hot turbo. For NA cars it is not appropriate (lacks the correct friction modifiers and additives for gas engines).

    Note Shell owns the Pennzoil and Quake State brands.
