I already posted this in the tires/wheels section, but I didn't get much help or maybe I'm just impatient:p Anyways, I have a 1998 2wd TRD Off Road Prerunner, but it has the 4x4 suspension. What are the biggest tires I can fit on the stock wheel without any rubbing and fender modification?

depending on the brand and tread pattern of tire and status of your suspension you MAY experience some rubbing

minor rubbing is no big deal. would it be worth it to shell out the cash to get the bigger tires? Are they noticeably bigger?

You can plug the numbers in yourself here... It something to consider when you have to buy tires anyway... but it's not worth doing it early imo. It will probably get you about an inch or two... depends on your budget and your needs.

I'm going to need new tires anyways, so I figured I might as well get some that will look better. What is an aggressive tire/pattern that I should look into? I don't do much off roading, mainly street driving, but I want a pretty aggressive look.

edit-the tires that are on my truck now are 235/75/15 but I have 16" wheels. Does that make any sense?

You have 15" tires mounted on 16" wheels? NOT Possible. Whatever your tires say, that's what your wheel size is. I have 31x10.50x15 on mine, and plan to replace them with 32x11.50x15 in a few weeks. Your truck is a 1998, so I would most likely bet your on 15" wheels. 01 to 04 came with 16" wheels.

Are your wheels stock? Post a picture of them.

Something is wrong. A tire for a 15" wheel will not fit a 16" wheel....

i swear that's what it is lol. I just have the stock wheels, they must be 15".

What kind of tread should I get for an aggressive look?

    Edit-Werloc, you're right.

Yeah...You have to have a 15" wheel if thats the tire size. A 265/75/15 is the size you should look for.

You can get Metric in 15". Anyway, stock size for the truck on 15" wheels is 31x10.50x15. You should be able to fit the next size up which is 32x11.50x15 which is what I'm putting on my truck. I have a 2000 4x4, but if you have a TRD 2wd you "should" (I would double check) be able to get the same size. Just a little rubbing at Full Turn on front wheels. That's it. For me, I can live with that.

As far as what tires? If you ask 10 different people, you'll get 10 different answers. This is just "MY" opinion. I've owned 4x4 pickups and 4x4 SUV's since I've been driving. I'm 46, so that's 29 years. I've had many different All Terrain tires, and for the passed 20 years, I've stuck with BF Goodrich All Terrain KO tires. Not a street tread, and not a full blown mud tire either, but a great aggressive looking all around tire. Great on road, and off road, sand, mud, snow, etc. Why do I love these tires? They last forever. On every vehicle I've had them on, I've got well over 70k+ miles on them with still half the tread left. 99% of my driving is on road, and very little off road. I just love them in the snow. Look them up. They're on the pricey side, but well worth it in the long run. You get what you pay for....;)

Alright thanks a lot for the insight. The previous owner must have put smaller tires on the truck, so I'll look into 32" tires.

i know my question has already been answered, but you can literally see daylight between the top of my tires i have now and the body of the truck, so would i be able to squeeze 33's under there? there is an 8" gap between the top of the tires and the bottom of the fender at the rear, and a 7 1/2" gap for the same thing in the front.
