If you move to Japan, I'm coming to visit

 

On Relo in General...

Are you and the woman on the same page? Is the salary enough to live on 1 salary? We moved around about every 3 years growing up (San Antonio, Birmingham, Huntsville, Birmingham, Atlanta). Mom was stay-at-home with 2 boys, and flexible/supportive. It certainly led to impressive promotion/salary from where they started. Everywhere may not have been ideal, but the are good spots and bad spots almost everywhere.

What's the future like? Will there be other opportunities beyond this? If you're likely to get another promotion/raise/move in a handful of years, why wait?

What get's you recognized/rewarded with your company? What's the experience/training/learning worth going forward? If you want more in position/salary, flexibility helps.

You guys have far more snakes in az, shit tons more scorpions, camel spiders, whip scorpions etc. Tampa is a nice place you're fairly close to the springs of northern Florida it's super green obviously Tampa has Busch gardens and is reasonably close to Orlando and all that has to offer. Can't speak to the other bugs they have a lot of fire ants and mosquitos for sure. Gas tends to be expensive but no income tax so that's a plus. The further south you go the more like the north east it becomes. The gulf is beautiful!!! Love the gulf side beaches but prefer the Atlantic for the diving. Rarely gets cold there.

Don't forget about the great diving in FL. I have dreamed about going down there and diving the caves and springs.

 

Grew up snorkeling, diving, surfing, fishing etc. Good memories!

No cave diving through, that shit is crazy. did some fun wreck dives in the Keys though!

I didn't want to scare him with the cave diving stuff. I have this grand design that I will live in both Arizona AND Florida. I'll have a house in somewhere like Phoenix for the Winter, and then go to Florida for the Summer so I can go diving all the time. I really love both of those states. So hard to freaking choose!!!!

I'd like to do Cave Diving or at least I think I do. I love dry caves, why not go for the wet ones.

 

Not yet. The meeting to grant me privileges is tomorrow the 21st!!!! Once that's done they are going to try to ask for temporary approval which means I could be out there next week if they say yes. If they don't say yes to temporary privileges the committee's recommendation goes to the Hospital Board and they then give the final approval in really early Feb. Its happening....just slow as fuck!!!!

 

You dive? Not much diving in AZ, unless you like man made lakes with zero visibility, but just south of the boarder, some great diving.

 

Bullhead.... Well its 182 miles from Flagstaff at least.

 

Yes sir I am a prolific Diver. That is one thing that is unfortunate about living in the Desert. I just hope that having California near by will hold me over. I'll be about 5 hours from the coast. I am brining all my diving gear with me just incase I get to go into those Kelp Forests. I would totally love to go dive in the Gulf of California. I've heard lots of good things about it down there. I figure Arizona isn't too far from LA by plane or otherwise, and it kinda opened up the Pacific diving opportunities to me. The East is great, the Caribbean is fine, but the Pacific has just incredible diving.

I've not done the Duane, but really want to do the USS Oriskany, but want to get my Tech Diver first.

Never went that far. Have PADI OW/adv/nitrox

 

La Jolla and Catalina Island are great diving, if you don't mind being in a 5-7mm wet suit. I got certified diving them, great live aboard that charters to Catalina. Saw the largest shark off Catalina. Then I discovered Mexico, warm water diving! Rock Point is about 4-5 hrs from Phoenix, with some decent diving. Willing to make a long weekend of it, then head down San Carlos. Some of the best diving in Mexico. Quant little fishing/resort village, 8 hrs from Phoenix. There are dive shops all over Phoenix, and they all run vans and buses to CA and Mexico for dive trips all the time.

Before the wife and kids, I was working on my Dive Master.

 

No I'm in Phoenix but I'm sure we will meet sometime. You can easily come out to see those of us who are at the expo in May.

I have some Family down in Jupiter/Hobe Sound. If I moved to Florida thats the side I'd want to be on for sure. I went and got my Master diver so now its the Choice of be happy where I am, go the teaching route, or go to the tech route. Part of me wants to go Tech THEN go teach.

Now see that sounds just so awesome. We have that here in Atlanta. The group I always go with (headed to Belize in July with them infact) does bus trips down to Key Largo for 4 day weekends. They drive overnight you get there in the morning all refreshed. The bus has beds enough for everyone on the trip. Nice right? Its a pretty long distance from Atlanta a good 700 miles but its nice being able to sleep on the bus and arrive at your destination. I would love to go to Catalina Island and LOVE liveaboards. What would be really fun is a TW Diving Trip. All these TW Scuba Divers going diving!!!! I sense a possible Trip announcement.

 

Ohh nice, I'll certainly be coming down to Phoenix a few times while I'm there. I love that city. What is this Expo thing anyways?? I saw something about it but didn't quite understand what it was. Its during the weekend though correct? I work weekends so it may not work out.

 

I can not wait for the expo, finally going to get to go this year. Think I am staying in Munds at a friend's place.
