Today was a long one. Lots of phone calls and stops to make.

My auto insurance is footing the bill, of course with my deductible. They are paying for me to drive a 2016 F150 ecoturd until the Taco is fixed. Aside from the glass, there is pretty severe damage to the LF window frame from a screwdriver prying. Both Front window seals are trash. But luckily, Toyota says the parts should be here Monday. This body man does all my work, and I trust he will get it back to 100%.

Its sitting in the body shop as I type.

For those wondering, both windows were about $400 from Toyota

I'd have rather them just smashed my windows. Could have had it fixed today. Now its going to take quite a bit of body work to fix. Should have it back by next weekend, I'm hoping.

Have had my cars/truck broken into about 5 times. We never lock them or keep anything in them. They always just toss the glovebox. One time the guy left his gnarly bent screwdriver on the floor, but thankfully didn't use it on my door. I am not advocating leaving them unlocked, but it is my method and I have yet to pay for damages.

That's the new plan. I'll just take out anything of value and leave them unlocked

My brother started doing this a couple years ago with his jeep. He says it gets rummaged thru at a minimum of once a week. For how easy those things are to steal tho...

The stock alarm only goes off when the doors are open. But I am having an add on module from Directed (I think) that runs with the stock alarm that will add the shock sensor and glass breakage sensor. I will also add a sensor when the tailgate is open (I plan on adding an electronic tailgate release).

So the driver's door frame is pretty messed up from the morons prying on it. Adjuster is supposed to look at it today.

I'd be hesitant to leave my doors unlocked. You're just asking for a group of homeless guys to have a "Soup Kitchen" in your nearly brand new truck....

You still have to pay the deductible, due to some scumbags breaking into a car to get nothing. I could see maybe if the OP had like Apple MacBook Air or something laying on the front seat

Body shop is a long time family friend so he is working with me on deductible. But it sucks to have to go through this. They never even stole anything, just messed a lot up.

I'd deal with a broken windows. But they got more than one of yours and screwed up the door frame and all. I'd be pissed as hell, and out looking for those bastards
