I'm not sure- I passed a bunch of tacos this weekend at the Lakes, but before that it probably wasn't me :)

Wanted to send a final update today on some of the things I'm currently working on:

    - Getting the vendor to provide the discounted rate across ALL Truck Fridge models per popular request (TF31/41/51).
    - Getting the vendor to take care of all payment transactions on their end, eliminating me as the middle man for payments and order-taking. This will enable us to go over the 30 order limit, but may cost us a 3% discount (which most of you would have paid via Paypal anyways). In retrospect I don't have to worry about handling anyone's money.
    - Trying to figure out an alternative option for those wanting a full discount (payment via certified funds for example).

I've been doing these changes based on your guys' feedback, so let me know if you have any questions :)

I am not 100% positive, but I would assume the stock inverter is a modified sine inverter which is not good for appliances/computers, etc. So it'll work, probably not to the best of its abilities, and then it'll only work when the trucks on unless you modify the wiring for it to stay on when the truck is off (at least I am pretty sure mine doesn't work when the truck is off).

Much easier to just run a dedicated fused wire for it with a disconnect.

That part of the group buy likely won't change.

For one, the vendor won't be able to determine the discount until at least 25 orders are processed. So while you can pay early, the number of orders determines the discount amount. I'm not even sure if they'll want to hold a group buy for an entire month.

Secondly, in case something goes south, I don't want the people who thought they had until mid-February to be screwed. That's basically what happened to my ARB group buy. Everyone asked for an early buy-in, things went bad with ARB, GB was cancelled, people got mad because had the GB started later everyone would've been able to order.

Third, the vendor is waiting on additional inventory right before spring.

Appreciate keeping us informed. Didnt know the vendor wasnt going to have stock on these till later. And glad to see working with the vendor for other payment ideas. Maybe mention we could have 30-35 people in and see if they will still will do 25% if over 30 or something

As for waiting...its just as risky sometimes as going early. Ive been in other group buys (although not here...all experience on TW have been good) that needed X amount of people. Time finally comes and "things came up" or people disappeared lol.

I am a brand new member and do not want to get ahead of any of the more senior members here. But I too would like to be on the wait list if possible.

    Hey Bob,

Doesn't matter if you're a senior member or a new member, if you want in you're in. I'll add you to the wait list for now, but if everything goes as planned with the vendor you can participate.

That's correct. Most of these portable fridges work best with a direct 12V connection, no need to run it off an inverter much less the factory one.

The only trip he's been on with TW is the XMAS run. Did you leave with Fernando's group at EL? Or earlier...can't remember =(
