My PE Switchblade Tonneau was delivered by UPS yesterday. Watching the big brown truck come up to the house is like seeing the ice cream truck as a kid, but when the ice cream truck has to back into your driveway, you know it's something good! I purchased my tonneau from from Auto Accessories Garage. Total came out to $693 after receiving a discount. Initial install took me 2 hours. The tonneau is designed to be easily removed and reinstalled depending on what your hauling. Drove around town today after I installed it and so far so good! Here are some images of it on my taco.
For the drain hose, instead of increasing the size of the OEM drain opening, I purchased some brass fittings from Home Depot that'll channel any water the canister accumulates down the 1/8" hole. That way if I do need full bed access and remove the tonneau, there won't be gaping holes left in the bed.
Another big plus is that I'm still able to use my cleats on the bedrails with the cover installed!
I'll update this post after a good rain storm to see how it does keeping the water out of the bed.

Is the cover pretty strong?? I'm looking for one for mine, and I really like yours! I need a strong one though for the winter. A cover than withstand a foot of snow overnight without bending.

The cover does seem sturdy. I've banged my hand on the cover a couple of times just to see what would happen and nothing broke. As for a holding up to overnight snow without sagging, I'm not really sure. I think it would.? Sorry for not having a more better answer...

Yea it does look pretty sturdy, I was actually watching some videos on it. The wieght of the snow only worries me when it's super packed down or wet. Powder snow should be no problem. Im always pretty good about getting the snow off my truck every time it shows. Thanks for getting back to me man good answer!

It was simple. I put the cover in my cart. Hit the chat button and asked for any available discounts for the switchblade. The person on the other end told my to refresh my browser and bam! A custom discount offer and a new price appeared. Proceeded to checkout.

Great looking cover, however your truck looks dirty. You should run it through the car wash a couple of times and report back on the water tightness! :taco:

That's pretty sweet. I got mine through a connection w/ Pace Edwards @ $600 shipped(a friend knows the owner of the company). Yours is pretty close.

As for the strength, there are full metal slats going across the bed. It will hold snow no problem. It is not meant to be stood on, but I have placed some weight on it spread out.

I have taken mine to the self serve bays a few times to wash off the road salt latly.
Is it 100% sealed? No, when I open it up after there is a small amount of wetness inside. I'm talking about 1 or 2 dribbles down each side, and maybe a tiny bit at a back corner. Nothing I am to concerned with because I was directly spraying the cover to clean it as well.
When cruising down the road I am very happy with how everything stays dry. I would not go and place a very expensive Item back there that will be ruined by a few drops of water, but wouldnhave no fear putting my suitcase back there in a rain.

Pretty sweet price. Looks like they have 15% off for newbies today. Sure is tempting.

I saw that as well! But I tried using the discount code but it would not apply it to the PE switchblade. I went back to the offer and read the foot note and it listed a bunch of brands that don't qualify for the discount. PE was one of the ineligible brands. Bummer...

When I bought my switchblade they were running a 15% discount as well that wasn't applicable for PE. But at the of the statement where it said it wasn't applicable, it said to call them to try and get a discount over the phone. Which is what I did via website chat. Just sounds like they'll give discounts but can't advertise them openly to keep the manufacturers happy. Good luck!

What's the purpose of the 4 exposed phillips head screws on the top of the canister and what would happen if they are removed?

They hold the top of the canister on. If you remove them you can lift the cover off the canister.
