for me it was not about 4x4 but I hated the wheels on the trdsport / off road, along with I do value the leather / home link

If you like the off road wheels, then saving money is saving money and like you said the suspension on the off road is better for actually off roading

I will never go off road so My choice was trd sport vs limited which is why I got liimited.

Passed for a few reasons. For me I found the lack of headroom with the moonroof to be an instant no-go. Even if the moonroof wasn't part of the package I would pass. All of that extra stuff just gives more things to break and have to deal with later. I've gone through my entire life without any of those driver assists or dual climate control, and I doubt I'll miss not having it now. The only thing I would like are the heated seats, so my plan is to just install those myself. I'm sure I can get the heating elements and figure out the wiring with some switches to control them. Overall, it just seemed like I would be paying for a bunch of stuff I didn't really view as necessary and could possibly give me headaches down the road. Now, if this was a nice luxury car or truck, then perhaps I'd understand premiums like that and I wouldn't be bothered by the additional cost initially and potentially with repairs later. JM2CWFWIW.

I paid / waited for it and wouldn't want it without it. Ass warmers and back up sonar/idiot warning has helped on a few occasions already. The moon roof is nice too.

PT does mean moonroof on double cabs, and it cost more.

yeah high setting on the 4runner is like low on the taco. too dam warm for me. I barely use med as it is unless its like -10F or colder. most of the time I just use low setting on the 4runner since I am usually wearing #2 UA thermal legs.

now the warden, she usually runs high or med all the dam time.

Ha! Just proves we all have different opinions! I thought the Limited wheels were ugly and went with a TRD Sport 4x4 because I liked the wheels!

I just got my TRD Sport DC with Premium tech package. I was disappointed it did not come with Homelink garage door opener considering this is a "Premium tech package". Also emailed Toyota that having a Park assist with REAR Sonar and Rear camera without front sonars is plain stupid. I own a 4runner, Lexus GX, and now my Tacoma. Tacoma has the poorest visibility up front. With the already flatter hood and hood scoop I optioned for, it's a little bit of a challenge getting used to my bearing with the front bumper. Granted, I have had it only a week and I'm sure I will adjust and walk out a few times in the parking lot to make sure I don't scrape up my front bumper.

I have an idea after being on this site for the past 2 hours. I am considering changing out the rear bumper anyway..... Would it be possible to remove the Rear sonars and somehow place them on the Front?? Just trying to come up with more mods

The only reason I went from a 15 to a 16 was the Premium and tech w/JBL I bought a 15 as a hedge against liking the 16

My 15 was plenty good enough if I did not want a fully optioned 16

I love tech. Whether a mobile phone or in vehicle goodies. I like to stay on top of the tech world.

The question you have to ask yourself if you plan on keeping this truck for 10+ years is how much of this tech will still be working down the line when you're out of warranty. Creature comforts are nice, but we plan on keeping this truck for the long haul and the less tech, the less I need to spend fixing electronic gadgetry or leaky sunroofs.

Now if I were buying a luxury/exotic vehicle that's a whole other story.

I won't keep it 10 years.....3-4 nowadays. I am making up for 40 years of buying used vehicles and paying cash.....Was 45 before I bought a new car....

If the 19 has better tech, I will go for it. I have never had a problem with tech in vehicles . Usually its physical like rattles, sounds, stuff falling off. Most Electronics last a lot longer than an engine. Lots of older vehicles with bad rings and working tech.

I actually had the opposite reasoning. I was just going to get a base SR5, but went fully loaded TRD because I was going to drive it 10+ years, where all the tech and luxuries would provide much more value and use over the years, and the cost would amortize over ownership.

But I could see your point regarding longevity. Had a 02 BMW 530i, and many of the electronics started to fail after 10 years (actually the whole car)
