    Same as everybody else...
I'm glad to hear that you and your daughter are okay. Nice work on the defensive driving and being able to react quickly enough to spare yourself and your kid. Tacoma did her job, she'll be parted out and live on in other Tacomas :)

Interior LEDs in foot well, sub rings, map lights, dome light, self done window tint, "always on fogs" custom head unit, custom built sub box for access cabs.
I got rear ended by a tahoe. I was at a dead stop waiting for traffic to clear and an intersection the tahoe hit me (based on skid mark test done by the police department) 55 when he began to brake and 35 when he hit me. Only thing damaged was the rear bumper. No tailgate dents, tail lights fine, no frame damage. I feel safe with myself and my fiancé riding in the truck knowing how sturdy they are.

How did the police determine who was at fault? Usually, it is hard to prove fault at traffic lights without witnesses.

Yep, either a independent eye witness or the at-fault driver admitting fault to the officer. Or, in rare cases the officer may have access to an intersection camera recording.

Get a dash cam. I am shocked more people don't have them, people look at me weird when I say I do. I won't ever have problems proving fault in a situation like this, no eye witnesses necessary. I think that in 10 years on board cameras will be standard.

I hope it takes 10 years, I'll almost be ready to retire by then and that will cut the number of claims adjusters in this country by half. Liability investigations are very time consuming but video evidence is slam dunk conclusive.

Wow! Glad you and your daughter are ok! what a blessing. It's crazy man I literally just moved my 2 year old daughter's car from the center to the passenger side to give her more room. This scenario ran through my mind prior to your post! I get conflicting information on what is the best placement for car seats? Again, glad your daughter is good bro! I most def have more peace of mine seeing how your taco held up!

Not only did she admit to the police that she saw the light was red after entering the intersection, she admitted that she noticed cars in the other lanes were stopped at the red light. I'm glad she did because none of the witnesses in those other cars stopped to talk to the police. I guess its time to consider the dash cam.

I'm sure it will be a slow adoption. In most cases police and investigators get it right here so people don't see a need. I think insurance companies pushing them will be what gets mass adoption.

I see it that way too. Imagine how much insurer's would save if they could get legislatures to mandate dash cams. There would be very few liability disputes, eliminating so many labor hours spend investigating claims. We're talking millions of dollars every year. Money drives this country so it's only a matter of time.

Yeahhh, I don't see dash-cams becoming mandated anytime soon. I certainly wouldn't want the government requiring me to have a recording device in my car at all times, and they'd face immediate lawsuits from the ACLU and a host of the other anti-surveillance entities.

I understand your guys' point, but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. Even if it were, I'd cut the cord on that shit right off the car lot.

How does a dash cam violate your civil liberties ? You control it.

This is why I will never buy a car. Everyone on the road seems to be driving SUV's and trucks now. I don't want my wife driving something that puts her at eye level with 90% of the bumpers on the road.

It absolutely doesn't, if I choose to put the camera in my car. If it's government-required and comes stock on the car, along with regulations saying that you can't take it out / turn it off, then I would have an issue with it. I think a lot of people would, which is why I don't see it being realistic anytime soon.

I can't imagine them becoming standard equipment and not giving the owner of the vehicle the capability to turn it on/off, erase recordings if not needed within 24 hours of recording, etc.

Back to the car seat discussion, my wife and I were just rear-ended in her highlander. We were at a stoplight turning left and a guy wasn't paying attention and hit us at 10-15mph. My son was sleeping and didn't even wake up in the accident(he was in a Chicco NextFit), but EVERYTHING we read said replace the seat. We went right out and bought a new one, and sent the receipt to StateFarm, we had a check in the mail a week later. They never asked for proof, or even called to talk about it, they just mailed it right over which we were surprised by.

Which camera do you have. I am looking for a front and rear setup after all the crazy crap I see on the road lately.
