Just remember, 4x4 doesn't mean it's better at STOPPING! Some people, especially inexperienced, forget that getting the vehicle moving is only 1/2 the battle, you still need to be able to stop and stops in snow are going to take a lot longer. Leave lots of space between you and the car in front, and take your turns SLOW.

I can't wait until this storm hits us. I am going to find the biggest snow drift and...am probably............ going to break something. But whatever I am so f$?king excited. Pray to the snow gods. Be safe out there for the non Tacoma/wrangler/pickemup truck/Subaru drivers. People just don't understand simple physics out there.

It must be nice to wish for snow. I was born during a snow storm and have endured it for 61 years. I no longer care for big snowstorms, as I have a large property with work & parking areas, a freakin' long driveway, and over a mile of trails. The tractor and 3pt snowblower make fast work of it, but I have to do it!

I'm getting too old for that shit.

    Enjoy!

New does not automatically equal 'good'. Not all tires are good for all conditions.

Don't worry about the 'going' until you can feel confident with the 'stopping', which, as you know, 4wd does nothing for. It's where traction matters.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I always like popping into these threads and learning all I can so if/when we get a winter down here, I'll at least have a fighting chance.

My tacoma rocks in the snow!! I'm rolling on 235/85r16 bf ko2's and it loves this winter we are having. 2 wheel drive and it does great. 4x4 and i'm in rally mode looking for anything thats not to deep.. 240 pound of sand helps a bunch too but its not necessary.

For the record 4x4 does not so much help if you slam on your brakes.. but.. it does help "slowing down" as you will have 4 tires using the compression of the engine instead of 2.

... $1 USD is worth $1.40 CAD up here; and that's why our American-born cousins will be coming up in hordes this summer. I can't wait for 40' RTV's driven my inept old farts towing Buick Enclaves completely tying up our little streets looking for gas. As the New York Times reports, " Canada is cool."

    Cheers, eh!

With all due respect, you guys only have to put up with tornadoes that completely annihilate everything in their paths. Thank you for the reminder and a renewed perspective. As it now stands, I really like snow.
