Hi all, I have a 2012 DCSB manual. The other day I jumped in my truck and drove off and noticed that the first 1/3 of the clutch pedal travel was suddenly really soft. The rest of the travel was normal. It's been this way since. Works totally normal, just really soft for the first part of being depressed. Anything to be concerned with?

Could be the slave cylinder, I had a boot on mine tear out, and took the whole thing with it. I'd also check your brake fluid and master cylinder, as the hydraulic system for the clutch taps into it. Could just have an air bubble at the top of the line.

Look under the trans for fluid leaking. The slave cylinder may be leaking.

I looked at the slave, no fluids. Fluid hasn't dropped since I topped it off. Clutch gets stuck halfway up when cold, after driving it's OK.

I'll have a mechanic take a look at it. Thanks all

When you take it in have them check for an air bubble in the line. The return line for the fluid actually has a point in it where it is higher than the reservoir, making an excellent place for bubbles to form. Poorly designed imo. Also, it could be something as simple as your pedal being adjusted wrong. That's super easy to check though, this guy does a good video on that and clutch replacement.

My truck has a separate reservoir for the clutch fluid and doesn't have the high hose issue.

Had mechanic look at the clutch, he was able to adjust the rod and said it seems OK now. No leaks, cylinders appear OK. Said the whole pedal assembly is made of plastic, something may have cracked but he has to look at the schematics. But otherwise working OK.
