So if I have the clock with the bezel and regular key ring just not a lit key ring, will I need a different bezel, black ring so it fits altogether with the lit key ring?

It seems so.. Posts in this thread say that the new ring is bigger so the old ring and probly EXISTING bezel won't work

    EDIT : EXISTING

Well shoot! I wonder if that means you the clock will be in the way with having to install a bigger bezel?

Yeah if you have to get the new bezel just to acquire that black ring you might as well use the brand new bezel too!

I successfully did this mod over the holiday weekend using the diy above and the bezel listed above as well. The actually light piece I pulled off a junked 3rd gen 4Runner.

Ok. I bought a HVAC unit off of a 2000 4Runner and it worked in my 04 DCSB Tacoma

96-02 will work but I think Limited 99-02 are the best finds (easier maybe?)

HVAC is 99-01 (non-digital as that was an option)

I got the HVAC non digital out of a 2000 SR5 4Runner. The limited has the digital HVAC. Thanks for the info on the light ring mod

I bought an illumination ring out of an 01 4Runner and on the end of the wires is a plug. What # LED will replace the green condom bulb? Also am I going to have to take the plug apart? I recently bought a clock delete bezel also and wanted to wire it into my clock power wires but then it will stay on all of the time. Too bad it wasn't plug & play since I have the female side of the plug that came wired to the illumination ring out of the 4runner

So reading through this whole thread, is anyone or does anyone know if this was attempted on a 2nd gen Taco? I would really like to add this mod.

Read through the thread, but can someone confirm that the two part #'s above will work for the 2003 Tacoma?

Details? There's still not any concrete info on what parts are needed for 02-04 since they seem to differ a bit.

It seems like 99-02 4runner lighted surround and the black circle piece from the bezel should work perfectly but not a ton of confirmation.
