So I've been told! I definitely plan on synthetic line, I'm just indecisive of which winch I want.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Your winch is the XRC Comp 9.5k right? Looking at one of those used and giving it serious consideration, downside is I have nowhere to mount one.

My advice is don't go cheap on a winch. You only use it when shit goes south, so you need to know it will work when the time comes.

wow. Throw back for me. Look familiar haha

yes i think so..like a 10-20 difference if you get a cheap line. Save yourself the trouble and get it pre installed.

actually...it is cheaper. 100' line is around 200 bucks..so..yea. 150 for it on the winch installed, way better deal.

    fuck cable

as m3bassman stated, its cheaper to buy with synthetic rope ask me how I know. then again I wanted black line instead of what came with the xrc 9.5 dark grey or something.

Cool! I wouldn't advise that mod. I did it on mine and even though they are a huge improvement over the oe bulbs, the beam they put out resembles chicken feet. It's pretty annoying too. (my .02 anyway)

Harnesses might be different but then again might not because it has all the same lights and controls! My 04 had 124,800 on it and my new 00 has 103 so I think I will wait till then and then swap it in!

I bought the xrc 9.5 steel cable for 279.99 shipped, should of just got the one with synthetic for 499.99. End up paying more after I realize that I cant use my tow on my rock-assault low profile front bumper.
very graphic be warned, though it doesn't look like steel cable same effect.

Has anyone put LED taillights in?

I'm having a strange issue and I'm not sure if it's the LED lights or something else. I installed them about 5 months ago and never noticed the issue until after my frame was replaced.

The issue, my turn signal causes the driver side tail light to flash. Earlier today both turn signals did it but after attempting to troubleshoot the issue now only the driver side signal flashes the driver side tail light. I have heard issues with putting led into the turn signal and solving it with a resistor. Is this need for a tailight as well? All the other lights are still halogen.

@TacoVio The cluster carries everything over. For example if it's set up for a manual you can't run an auto off of it. The only thing I'm unsure about is if the plugs are the same in the back. I know the 01-04 plugs are the same but with earlier years I have no clue. This is what the back of the cluster looks like.

Plugs are in the same places sooooo I think it will but I kind of got the 4x4 light working but Its intermittent. I think it's the sensor/solenoid on the transfer case! I put everything back together and plugged everything back in and now my brights or the indicator won't stay on!!! Ugh! I gave up lol

Looking more at that second pic, it looks like I'm going to have to move my washer fluid resi so it doesn't get smashed.

    Anyone have experience with this?

Looks like the entire cable disconnected from the vehicle...

Which is why you always put weight draped over a cable. Even something light like 20lb will ensure that never happens.

So my driver side door lock (power lock) has been grinding for over the last year and im looking to replace it finally. Toyota wants llike 300$ for the part and i found a 95 4runner with a complete door. Will the actuator/motor out of the 4runner work? Thanks

or does anyone have a actuator they are looking to sell?

might be trailer wiring harness if you got one, bleeding over with the lower voltage LEDs. Also make sure you have the LED flasher.

pretty sure they are interchangeable on 98-04 as they all went digital. but you may need one from the same type of engine or make sure the the tooth gear on trans matches the gearing?
