I have read that people feel the performance slip due to extra weight and a loss of MPG's. I have had mine for 5k now and do see a 1.5 MPG loss, but cannot feel any performance loss. That is coming from the stock tire FYI.

I just moved up to this size on Monday. It is definitely noticeable when accelerating and going up any sort of hill or incline. They are way quieter than the terra grappler g1's they replaced though and damn do they look good on the trd pro wheels.

    Pic for clicks:

It seems to me that gas mileage is pretty close to what it was although the snow driving probably had more of an impact than the tires in the first couple tanks. I should have a better idea what the mileage is when my current tank runs out and I will try to remember to get back on this thread and give a better answer

Got rid of the stock Dunlop's with the 16" steel wheels and bought 16" TRD rims on Craigslist. Had them hydro dipped in carbon fiber and installed the 265/70-16 KO2. Have always gone with BF's.IMG_1281.jpg IMG_1289.jpg IMG_1290.jpg

Agreed, I'm slowly getting rid of the chrome on mine too.

Any pics of the tread or tread-depth measurements? Really curious to see how these wear with 50k miles

Also, can you summarize your experience with grip across the various surfaces and conditions you've encountered? Anything they're not good at or to watch out for? Any change in behavior over the 50k?

If you are here in San Diego, the company is SoCal Hydrographics, Inc. a subsidiary of RW Little Sandblasting and Power Coating. They are one of my vendors so I only had to pay for the material cost of $75 per wheel. $150 for the wheels on Craigslist and $300 to get them dipped. All in all, $450 for wheels that quite frankly no one else has, yet!

I had 5100s front @ 1.75". No rubbing at all. Except the small air deflectors that are on the 2012+. Took those off and no issue.

Love my KO2's. I immediately noticed a "grippy" feel when I started driving with them. They handle well in every weather condition I've encountered so far (Rain, Snow, Mud).

Sorry, I haven't read all 60 pages, but is anybody running these in 33-1050R15?

Also, I'm not very familiar with floatation sizes. Are there any on-road disadvantages to having that much sidewall? Wobbly handling, etc...

    Much thanks.

You can't fit 15's on a second gen. You could get 255/85 r16 if you have 16" wheels. See this thread for all your 255/85 needs.
