Should plan a trip to meet up in Moses lake this summer. I would be willing to drive up for that.

Wait! You have a 1st gen? For some reason I thought you were a 2nd genner.

When I looked at the Columbia Overland dual Batt tray, I found it was built only to fit 2 Odessy group 35 batteries. Those are about $300 each IIRC and a are bit undersized IMO. On a 1st gen there's just no more room in the stock location but 2nd gens have quite a bit more room. In fact, I've seen pics of 2 group 27s in the stock location.

I saw they were for specific battery on the Columbia overland one. The ato version is different and uses a different battery. Both option use that group size but there were other options for batteries...Both optimas and the die-hard platniums.

But batteries were one thing I plan to research. I know nothing bout them other than wanting higher cca.

Odyssey and Northstar AGM types are very similar dinesionally and spec wise within a give group size. Diehard Platinum AGMs up until recently were made by Odyssey but I've read that relationship has ended and Sears is no longer selling them.

Not trying to be a fanboy but I just bought 2 Northstar group 24Fs in a TW group buy. I am eager to see how they perform

Cold Cranking Amps and reserve capacity in minutes are the two specs I used to compare.
