I wanna do this but I get confused with things of this nature.

 

How?

 

Cut wires, strip ends. Solder more wire on, run them into the cab, solder on the plug.

 

you confusing me, isn't the plug also on the solenoid box.

 

yea but if you move it to the cab, you have in cab control. But by not just using a switch, you can still get out of the truck in case its not a safe place to be in the truck while winching.

 

I openned up the control box and unplugged the three small gauge wires going to the plug and then removed the plug from the box. I extended those wires to the cab, reconnected them to the plug I mounted in the cab.

For my 1998 I was given 90080-10066. This is what you want.

They are definitely the LBJ bolts you are looking for. However the description says "bolt, flange"

I can take a pic of the parts label if you want.

 

Interesting. Mine didn't come with a washer.

@Squeaky Penguin did we use washers for the LBJ bolts? I can't remember.

 

my LBJ bolts didn't have a washer, just the little "flange" if you will.

 

Mine are just rusted together....woot.

 

Yeah sorry, didn't realize there were 200 messages after yours that I quoted. Hard to navigate on my phone.

 

Wel found out that the speedometer and odometer not working and the engine light being on is the result of the VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) I pulled it yesterday because he 4wd indicator light is part of it. It's on the passenger side of the transfer case. I gotta go home and pull it and clean it and what not after classes!

 

Its not that hard bro. Just follow the steps...I'm not that mechanically inclined and I got-er-dun within 2 hours, that includes beer drinking

I've got my solenoid mounted under the hood. Teed off the wires and extended both sides so I have in cab controls with a nice switch and can still plug my control in to the bumper. Best of both worlds.

I don't quite understand running the wires into the cab if you still have to get out and plug in your controller.

 

See below, applies to "from the factory. "with skirt" and "without skirt" joints are interchangeable. I believe the joints themselves are the same.

 

I'm convinced the only reason my truck is in 1 piece still is because it's rusted together
