I have a greatest hits album (or something like that) I loaded up on my IPhone ... makes me laugh every time ... some things are truly timeless. :)

We have about 12 inches of snow but the wind is whipping thru. I took a pic of my neighbors flag, I apologize for the poor shot but it should give an idea of the wind0123160720e.jpg

Just got back from my grocery trip. It's nice going early, had the store to myself and few on the road. Snow is picking up and the roads are starting to get greasy.

Jeez CAM, clean off the dish on the roof, are you kidding lol! Mad respect for ya bud but I ain't going outside in 40 mph wind for nothing. Power is still on, still snowing like crazy. Y'all hunker down with a good book or your significant other and take it easy. Ill bet the birth rate spikes in this area sometime round October.

Good morning everyone! Man looks like you guys are getting hit pretty hard already, ouch. Be careful!

Thank you, you'd be a musher then when you drive them. Most people think you get the dogs moving by saying mush, but like Cypher said it is actually HIKE! Although the dogs love to run so much you have to anchor the sled down as you harness them LOL. You drive with your voice, Gee turn right Haw! turn left, etc.

Everyone be care full and stay ahead of the storm.
My chores today include replacing the grill tank and getting some more rock salt for the drive.
We are going to miss this one which is very unusual.
Keep monitor exhaust open if you have one.
    Plan your outside stuff.
    Storms in feet are killers.
    Be safe all.

Haha, my one cat, my explorer, just had to go out on the screened in porch just like every morning. She was okay until she got close to the windows where the snow is a good foot high on the porch... she decided she had enough of that stuff, whatever it is.

Haha... I may not have a snowblower but I do have a 35 foot telescoping rod with a brush on the end of it. I have to keep that dish clean, football is on tomorrow. And I wouldn't want to miss any cool shows on The History Channel ! Mission accomplished, btw.

Your priorities seem proper to me.
Plus, when this storm passes, you're gonna need something to watch while you lay on the couch recuperating from all the darn shoveling. ;)

Yeah... I love music and I love to read but waiting for the snow to melt to watch tv would be more reading than I care to do. :)

Made it home safely. This is one of the four bridges I have to cross. There were a lot of icy spots but the truck did great. Not much traffic out so I was able to stop for a pic.

We had so many call ins last night we could only run one of our two machines. I guess we'll go and try it again tonight.

Don't forget to clean up around your heat pumps. Mine was packed with snow so I went out and cleaned it up. And in a tip of the hat to CAM I brushed off the Direct TV dish, ground level of course.

You know, I plan to work until about age 65 but it's times like this I start thinking... military pension, second career pension, social security later on, 401K, Roth IRAs, savings.... carry the 2, uh huh, carry the 1... divide by 20, then by 12.... hmmmmmmm. And the Carolinas would be on my short list of places to go.

Have always thought somewhere along the N. Carolina cost would be great. Somewhere not all the OBX tourist come in the summer and a place less likely to flood when the inevitable tropical depressions and hurricanes come up the coast. Is there such a place ? Probably would have to be 50 miles inland to find it.
