You just need that one wire for switched power. Gid is just saying find an empty spot in the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel where that little pull down cubby is... that way it's its own circuit - for more ease of install. Clear as mud?

What this will do is allow you to tap into a pre wired circuit on your fuse block, whether it be an open spot or a spot with a fuse in it already. This is as simple as it gets. Yes you can take a suitcase clamp (wire tap) and tap in that way but you are then designating whatever you are hooking up to run off the same fuse as whatever you hooked it to. An add a fuse gives you the ability to put whatever you are adding on its own fuse right at the fuse block.

Got the jeep out of hibernation this morning to pull a buddys truck out of a ditch. Running the winch through a snatchblock that was up in a tree got it out no problem
