    None needed.
I had a 1972 International Scout 'Comanche' back in 1983-84 (like the on pictured). It had the 307 with duel tanks. It was white with tan strips and 'Comanche' along the sides. Mine was rust free, which was virtually unheard of for Scouts. It rode like a stage coach with its 4 wheel multi band leaf springs. That was one bad ass truck, by far the strongest truck I've ever had!!!

My 3600 stall kills it in town. but when I lock it up on the highway, mileage greatly improves.

The brown Scout was my 1st 4X4. This was a 1968 that had been special ordered by a local survey company. I bought it used in 1976. It was pretty rough body wise. None of the window cranks worked, the inner door panels had been removed and a 2X4 cut to the proper length to hold the windows up. To roll them down you just took the 2X4 out. It leaked so bad even with the hardtop holes were drilled in the metal floor to drain water out. Not many remember, but it still had separate shift levers for 4X4 and low/high range. Three sticks in the floor. I learned to drive a stick driving it home. I used to get calls all of the time to come pull buddies out of mud holes. It was small enough to get into places bigger rigs couldn't, yet had plenty of power to pull out most anything. Never seen anything else that small with an engine that big. The front leaf springs had 13 leaves to hold up the weight. The skid plate started at the front axle and extended to the rear of the transmission. Frame rail to frame rail. It was armor plated on the bottom. It even had a hand throttle like a tractor.

I traded it for the Jeep truck a couple of years later. Never really liked the Jeep and went back to a 1974 Scout. It was much more refined by 1970's standards. Still wouldn't trade either for my Tacoma.
