I paid $300 for them to upgrade from three to seven rolls of 3M adhesive tape. They said if I planned to drive it on the freeway, they wouldn't warranty it if I didn't pay for that option. I gladly did - best money I've spent! I didn't want anything falling off the truck.

No...this is their way of "tricking it out" and adding some profit. Jeep and Ford dealers down the road from me do this stuff all the time. Guess what? Someone ALWAYS buys them. Dealers wouldn't do it if it didn't work.

That would not surprise me. Harley did that to my Fatboy lo a while back, they also scratched my paint and tried to cover it up with sharpy marker.
