Tips and Tricks on the 3rd Gen Tacoma

Added windshield wipers to the bottom as they headlights don't turn on when they are on as most other vehicles do. Saw a question posed on this today.

 

I'm pretty sure the radio will only see 9,999 songs from a flash drive.

I have over 15,000 (87GB) on a 128GB flash drive and the radio won't see them all.

 

Is there confirmation about the outlet in the bed having power while truck is in aux mode? could only get mine working while truck was started.
Also
I think my transmission has a learning disability. Im at 5,000km and its still learning.
Kinda enoying.

Hmm, 9999 songs is a lot to keep to begin with. I know the I had my Corvette, anything over 32GB it wouldn't populate all of the songs. This is probably OS specific though. I'll add that to the list of things. Also, the bed should have 100W of power when in ignition mode not aux as I recall. So not started but fully powered up on battery. Press the push button twice basically.

Another small feature
If the engine is running just press PTS button in any shift (R-N-D or S)except in P and radio won't go off.

 

im confused..why would the radio turn off while its running? or do you mean once its been shut off, like for the driveinn movies or something?

 

I think he meant when you put it in park and press to turn off. If you do it while in Neutral it will remain on in accessory more instead.

 

Example
If you arrived home and you are listening to something interesting in the radio and you want to shut off just the engine and not the radio.

How long does the radio stay on for? Or does it stay on until you turn it off?

 

Also if you are in S mode, for example 1st gear. Just tap up once and hold the shifter for 1 second and it will jump to 6th gear instead of tapping it 5 times.

 

I don't know. I have not tested for more than 5 or 6 minutes.

 

The sun visors extend. You can see the one clip with arrows showing it.

 

If you open the sunroof all the way. Then press the open button again it will open up a little bit more. They do this to help keep the road noise down.

 

Most vehicles have R.A.P. (Retained accessory power) when shutting down the radio stays on until the door is opened after shutting down. The new Tacoma radios shit off when you turn the truck off?

 

What is the PTS button on number 35?
