HELP! I want 4 cylinder Tacoma Double Cab TRD Sport!

The current 3rd gen 4 cylinder mileage is about the same as a 3.5L V6. The past 2nd gen was a different story. Just letting you know.

 

Not sure why you are knocking the V6s so much. I've never heard of an issue with the 4.0.

As for the 3.5, time will tell...

 

Mileage is close, yet longer term, extra weight wears out suspension and brakes faster. Its simple physics. Plus, I trust the 4 cylinder more.

Yea, 33's lift and roof rack and I'm getting 18-19 avg on my 4.0. I got a solid 10-11 mpg on my '02 when I put 33s on it and a level kit, (2.7L working overtime)

 

And it's a turd. I've driven a couple.

 

No bad mileage. When I think about trucks, I always think about reducing weight. Will look for aluminum hood and lighter wheels as well as hoping aluminum doors are available. I have been saving for years waiting to pay cash for my Tacoma. Do you know anything about chips?

I agree with this statement if it was a regular cab or extended cab. a double cab with 4x4 will do exactly the same with a V6: wears out suspension and brakes faster thanks to the extra weight the 4 banger has to push around and slow down.

Colorado received great reviews in magazines, but when I read Edmund's owner reviews, there were many complains about weird acceleration. Colorado is a pretty truck, but its reliability and re-sale value can't touch the Tacoma I'd wager.

You should see the colorado forums... lots and lots of complaints about poor door seals, water leakage into cab, etc..... Pretty truck yes, reliablity...... hmmmm I have to disagree.

 

If there is one truck, I'd not be caught dead in driving again, Its a Ford on Roadside Dead. After owning one and seeing it nickel and dime me to death, I fail to understand why Fords are the best selling pickup. If I went fullsize, I would get the Tundra, 99% and if there was a massive discount, a 1% chance to get Chevy, but a less than 0% I'd buy a Fix or Repair Daily. You could not give me one. You could pay me to drive one for a week.
