Agree or disagree? I said Chevy's were not as reliable.

Maybe the Ecoboost has issues which I've seen plenty. But my buddy's F150 V8 has 350k on original engine. Great truck

That is because Ford has terrible mpg and was heavier than Chevy and Toyota to begin with. Chevy will use high strength steel, but Toyota was always the lightest, but being far more conservative, they will introduce light weight components later. I owned an automobile shop in Texas back in 2004, knew many race care mechanics, they always talked about weight loss being key to speed and handling. Since then, I always consider weight number one in terms of longevity and handling dynamics.

Not great truck in my personal experience. My truck needed many small repairs when all I did was drive hwy. Ford will never get another dime from me.

I'd get a Ford F150 before I ever get a Chevy and I grew up working on Chevy engines. Unless it has a LS7 or better with a 6psd I'm not interested in a Chevy truck.

In business school, we did a case study on Toyota. Their philosophy is to build a car which lasts forever, most people will not keep it but 5 or 6 years, trade it in for a new Toyota. Additionally, my cousin and his why are both Nissan engineers at their plant in Canton, MS. My male cousin says the difference between Toyota, Ford and Nissan is that when Ford and Nissan gives them build sheets, they generally ask can the price be lowered. He said the answer is usually less, but the tolerances won't be as tight, which they say is less important than price. He said but whenever Toyota gives them a spec sheet to build parts, and they get the price, Toyota always says built it to the specifications listed. Ever since I heard that news, I have been 100% Toyota. I have owned 2 Mercedes since, a Wrangler, etc., but they 2 vehicles I own this day are Toyotas.

So I guess we just shut our eyes to all the issues the gen3s are having? Lol. The problems the twins are having are just as minor as the gen 3 Tacoma's issues.

I can imagine. Most truck guys care less about mpg than towing and power. I am the opposite now, but I have had a Camaro and a Corvette. I passed the caring about speed phase when I sold my 'Vette in 2007.

I am surprised by it since the Tacoma is a mild refresh while the Colorado is a completely new design and quality problems are nothing new for GM in the first place. Although I had a 3/4 ton pickup which was a gas hog, and a 1/2 ton short wheel base pickup which was great until stole.

Who said the 3rd gen doesn't have issue? I must be a fanboy  and believe Toyota doesn't make crap vehicles. Just look at the Toyota pickup with the 3.slow engine.

I see the hate of 4s, but I drive all highway and the mid-range power is not phenomenal, but enough to get by with no issues.

I hear Toyota may introduce a turbo 4 or hybrid 4, and I was thinking to also hold out for the rumored diesel. As I said, I am keeping my truck 30 years. They last that long. I like the color of your Tacoma. I may spring for the same color or the blue one.
