    Hey All,

Picked up my 2016 in September and figured it was time to join a forum and get some good info.

Bought it mostly to get my race bike to and from the track...seems like Toyota has had some tailgate strength issues though.

    Still a problem in 2016?

    Looking forward to the forum!

Welcome to TW! As far as i understand it the tailgate is stronger. That being said, i do drive my Kodiak 450 on and off my 2nd gen using ramps. So you should have no problem.

Thanks, reading around the forum has so far yielded similar responses. :hattip:

I'll probably get the reinforcement plate from Relentless Fabrication when they release the 2016 gear.

I've had a bike in it once so far and didn't have any issues but the stories of Taco'd tailgates made me pretty wary!

I used to have a 1st gen and i actually inverted that tail gate. Oops. But the one on my current truck is much stronger , still not the best but better, and from what i hear the new ones like your are several notches again above that.

But the plate will def give piece of mind. Nothing wrong with that.
