My ex never let me drive his Tacoma. Then he sold it. Then we got divorced. Then I bought my own Tacoma....with the money I got in the divorce. Win- win for me

Yeah private property accidents do indeed suck. When I was in highschool I got hit by an uninsured woman who was under the influence and came across 4 lanes of traffic into a parking lot just in time to clip the front end of my old, but freshly painted, Buick with her Celica. She had alcohol and drugs in the car, and her passenger put them under the spare in the trunk before the cops arrived. They lied and said that the (apparently more sober) passenger was the one driving, and in spite of witnesses interjecting and pointing out that they saw them hide alcohol and weed under the spare the police refused to investigate. Said it was private property and in the state of TN they don't investigate private property incidents. My insurance company called it no-fault based on the police report and said we had to pay for our own damages. Lucky for me I had a Buick. I fixed the front end in shop class by beating out the front bumper mount with a sledge hammer and replacing the headlight assembly with one from the junkyard. Her Celica on the other hand - it stayed in that parking lot to rot for over a month before the property owner had it towed. The hood was through the windshield, the front driver side fender was in the tire, and the radiator was busted. They really don't make em like they used to.
