    I can't get over 19mpg even on the highway with a bone stock truck with stock Goodyear tires :-\ But I do live in the mountains, so I'm assuming that tons of gradual uphills can do that.

    Since I wanted the (17") SCS Stealth 6 wheels, I was able to get the 265 KO2s in C ratings. They're sitting my garage, gorgeous tires. I'm just waiting on the wheels now.

    No, that's what I meant by bone stock truck. I do have a tonneau cover, though. I don't know if the fuel around here is winterized in any way, but clearly I'm not getting the 20+ mpg people are reporting. And I've been running on premium fuel since new too (yeah, I know, let's not debate).

    I've found all my vehicles whether bone stock or modified miss the MPG numbers a bit. I think that's partially due to our gas blend.
    Our gas companies here (Canada) are required to use up 10% ethanol in the mix- or more.... total BS though because they alway max it out . Sometimes more based on some threads I've read that have sent some away to test.

    Not sure what refineries /govt regulations are required to do there?

    bumping up to a 265/75r16 will actually make your speedo more accurate as it reads high, stock.

    So not only does the 3.4% increase in tire diameter make your speedo more accurate, it also means that when your truck has taken you 100,000 miles, the odometer will read 100,000 rather than 103,400 miles. (I know - who gives a shit, right? well... lease companies probably do.)

    Good points about the Ethanol in gas, we're dealing with 10% at all pumps (if you believe the numbers posted). That could definitely have something to do with it.

    In the end I don't care THAT much, gas is cheap(er) these days and I choose to pay more for Premium anyway. I only use the Tacoma for commuting when the roads around me are frozen, otherwise I commute by motorcycle and I'm getting about 42 mpg with that.

    I've read a TON of reviews and threads about the DuraTrac and AT/3 tires, I feel like there are plenty of success stories for both. Not being able to decide, I went with KO2s :p But honestly it was the snowflake rating of the KO2s as well as the reported wet road and highway compliance that swayed me.

    For what it's worth, someone on this forum posted about having mounted/balanced hundreds of these tires and stated that DuraTracs always needed a ton of lead weights. Apparently the KO2s hardly need any. I don't think that says anything specific about the performance, just a small data point.

    Right on Adam. The more you search on here, the more you find that there are 4 or 5 tires that are frequently recommended for their proven track records. It's personal preference at the end of the day, and the tires have to meet YOUR needs and lifestyle. Luckily TW puts you in touch with others who have similar lifestyles to make the decision a little easier. :cheers:

    I won't go with a 265/70 17 inch rims because I want to stay stock size and not muck with Speedo or fuel economy. I'm fine with 17" rims but then you need a C rated tire in 265/65 to wrap them and remain stock size
