Nice truck! Should have posted this in the Audio / Video section, though. There's a hand full off knowledgable people who participate in that forum that would have gladly helped answer your questions.

How do you like the kickers? I have a 2014 and have been looking into upgrading my speakers and adding some additional electronics.

    These are the Kicker splits:

Two 10mm bolts hold the tweet in... And they couldnt make it any harder to get to too...

Luckily theyve left enough room in there to stuff my crossovers in each side!

Good idea using the old tweets as a mounting bracket. You think the epoxy will hold?

question about the frost king. does the foam backing stick well for did you use an adhesive/glue first then lay down? just curious about summer days here in texas. the dynamat and other brands have a tar like backing and I don't think this does.
thanks for the answers in advance

How hard was it to remove the cover for the passenger tweeter and how did you do it? I have had a slight rattling noise and I've narrowed it down to the cover or something under it (long story). I'm just afraid of breaking the tabs off. Thanks for helping out I could really use it!

I used AC metal "pressure" tape, like used on AC ducts. Like a boss. Works super good.
Theres no tar in the FrostKing. Its got sticky backing... That with the AC tape, good stuff.

Pop'd the panel off with a razor knife first to get under it, then a small flat bladed tool to pop it out... I included a pic... Pop the side closest to you first, away from the pillar.... BottmLeft corner of panel

The rattles prolly one of the two 10mm bolts holding the tweet in?

See how I used it to "seal the deal"? It allowed me to layer the FrostKing real good:

that dampening that you used that I see in the picture, is that the 1/8 in foam self adhere or is that something else with a black tacky backing?

Thank you for all of the help! Based off of your image it must be one of the bolts because there isn't anything else to cause the noise. However if I wedge my finger in between the gap of the panel and pillar the noise goes completely away. I think I read somewhere that another guy had the same rattle and when he pulled the cover off and put it back on the noise was gone for good. Did you break any of the clips off?

Negative on the broken clips. Just go slow.... And use ur index and middle figures to apply down pressure in the exact opposite corner ur prying up.... Theres a L shaped clip that Ive heard breaks... I guess I got lucky, twice.

Yes, its FrostKings 1/8" foam/foil backed insulation. Bought it at the blue bigbox store. It works. I promise you.
The AC foil tape assures the bond.
    Layering is tough without it.

Great to see someone diving in. I'm not buying for a little bit and JBL or not is one of the last things I'm still tossing about. Not going JBL would be easier to upgrade without the 2 ohm amp. Plus I'm thinking good speakers with panel treatments will probably be almost as good as the JBL sub, without losing the storage nook behind the seat.
