You left your truck ...in the road?? Were you out of gas? No shovel? Didn't know it was going to snow, a lot?

Not trying to be an ass here, but I just don't get why you would leave your truck... in the road.

Where are you located? We're in Manor township right off Hershey Mill RD. It's crazy ...I can't even say how much we got...25"+, it's been blowing everywhere. Our hot water heater stopped working and we realized our intake/exhaust ports were in the snow. Whoops..... This is our first all-gas house and we've only been here for 2 years. The things you learn.....

    Stay warm and safe!

Prerunners are fine with the right kind of tires + experience and common sense. Dedicated snows are best....but the Duratracs (on rear) have worked good for me this weekend.

12" of snow in this picture. Drove it in 15" yesterday. Never got stuck.

The friends in Huntersville are transplants from the Albany, NY area, so they had fun adapting.

I did find the enormous amount of greenhouses between Huntersville and Concord to be interesting. Apparently they grow plants for a lot of the big box stores for a long ways around?

Also drove the Devil's Whip (without realizing that's what it was) when I was down there. Quite a laborious road to drive in a lifted pickup! I imagine it would be much more fun in something like a WRX, or even a Mustang.

The snow is up to the frame. wheels spinning, and I just worked a 12 hour shift overnight.. 8pm-8am. I got stuck a few times and dug myself out with a shovel, trying to get home. At 11am I decided the best thing to do was to go back to work, where I have to be at 8pm, for another 12 hour shift.
Im also not trying to be a dick, but after working a 12 hour shift, and then digging for 3 hours, I really didnt want to continue trying to dig, and get back into my work parking lot. Im in an exit lane about 200 feet from work. I think Im good. The snow isnt going to stop until 6am tomorrow morning. No one is going anywhere. Even VDOT has stopped plowing the roads until the storm stops.

Yeah the greenhouses are pretty neat. I played basketball with the owners son. His house was back inside the greenhouse area. It was awesome getting to go through there. And I agree that would be awesome in a real sports car like a wrx or a mustang. My lifted Tacoma just isn't the same

That's just a normal day for us, nothing would be closed and everyone would still be out and about.

Sounds like you did the best you could under the circumstances. As long as your truck isn't blocking a snow plow you should be good. Your employer should be paying you overtime. ;)

I'm confused why people are freaking out over this "blizzard". Most of these pictures don't show that much snow.

To someone that lives in Buffalo this is not a lot of snow. 25" is Child's play to what they are used to getting. When you have to tunnel your way out of your house 25" is nothing

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
I'm guessing chains are for use during icy conditions. Reason I ask is because all I have to deal with down here is rain and mud. Almost never any snow/ice.
Edit: I mean tire chains, not a chain to pull a vehicle.

Snow, ice, mud they make a huge difference in any slippery conditions. I haven't needed to chain up in any conditions I have encounters with my truck but I would if I was going up a steeper snowy back road hunting.

Leaving my truck on the side of a road in a snow storm would be scary.. Expect it to be complete covered by a snowplow if they don't hit it.. Best of luck.

We are lucky here in Washington we get snow but usually not more then a foot in one day and they don't stop plowing if it is snowing.

I would never discount the lives lost in this storm. There were more lives lost last November when buffalo got hit with 60 inches overnight. Yes that's right 60 inches that's five feet, and at my house we had closer to six when it finally stopped snowing. Same thing happened here, people went out that shouldn't have and tried to shovel and ending up having heartattacks or getting trapped by there own vehicles. It just takes common sense to live during a blizzard, when there's travel bans and you go anywhere anyways why do you need to get your car out?

*if you look at the picture for my profile that's me, I'm 6'3" and the snows well over my head above the cars.

its not a dick measuring contest between a storm in mid atlantic and buffalo. youre going to any thread with people in this region showing pictures and doing the same thing. It sounds like you have snow self esteem

anyway, I hope you get pounded with snow soon so i can see your pics/
