Yes they do. But one uses your brakes to do it and the other locks the rear diff.

 

Only if you turn off the trac button. The dash will light up "LSD"

 

I added intermittent wipers, window tint, Husky floor liners, fog lights in the bumper and a Mobtown Offroad tailgate skin. I also had the crappy chrome caps and steelies so I replaced with the TRD wheels. Next up is tires, looking at either General Grabber ATs or Firestone Destination ATs, AM skid plate and replace the chrome nerfs.

 

And I'll add...on the '09+ Tacos you can hold down the trac button for 5 seconds and completely kill the traction-control, stability-control and LSD as long as you're under 30 mph. Above 30 mph the stability-control portion automatically re-engages. Once you drop under 30 it will turn back off. The system resets either after you push the button again or restart the engine....and defaults to it's regular settings.

I had forgotten about that button truthfully until y'all brought it up. Lol
I don't have the front wheel sensors so I don't have traction control or abs. Lol just the rear air locker.

 

I use mine in sand, mud, rocks etc. It doesn't seem to make too big of a difference in mud or sand but it's a major difference on rocks. I go to a deer lease a couple times a year out in the Texas hill contry. The terrain is pretty rocky and full of ups and downs. Some inclines are solid limestone and too rocky to take with speed. But if you go slow while unlocked eventually you lose traction. Locked, you just keep chuggin along

And there is another one I was waiting on! That truck my friend is one of many on here that should be admired as to what an owner can do with a PreRunner. Strong work sir!

 

Okay so I have an 09 PreRunner and this is my first time taking her out in the snow. My truck got a little squirrelly, back end started to swing out with a the tire spinning, when the A-LSD light and buzzer came on. Is this system on always, should it be turned off when not needed?

 

Kinda a slow build. Lol no need to check daily.

 

You can turn it off. But that beep and buzzer tells you that the braking system is trying to keep you straight.

 

The Mobtown Skin is nice, big improvement over the OEM plastic. Even though I use my tailgate mostly as a bench for my old mass I can tell the difference. I'd like to get the tailgate cap but like I said tires are the priority. I hear a lot of good reviews on the Grabbers but I'm concerned about road noise and these are LT tires. May be a little more tire than I need as I only roll on gravel or farm roads.

 

Thanks...so no need to turn it off. Love the Tacoma but it handles much differently than my old Ranger in the snow.

 

Stay very far away from General tires. They are some of the heaviest and worst in the business.

 

I got rid of my AT2's the sidewall was way too weak.

 

How about Firestone Destination ATs or even the BFG Rugged Terrains? Like I mentioned I drive gravel roads or farm roads if I'm not off of the pavement. I'm looking for something that looks good and will get me where I need to go, mostly to fish or shoot groundhogs.

Either of those are great. I also like cooper tires. My personal choice for my truck is treadwrights.
