I used to play up to 200 rounds of golf a year back in my 30s. Haven't played in years. Need to get my shoulder fixed and hope the arthritis doesn't get too bad by the time I retire and maybe I'll take it up again. But yeah, sore shoulder or not, I'd rather be playing golf today than here with all this snow ! Do you play, Marty ?

Nope I'd still say it was pretty... Just like when I have to rake all the leaves from my trees, that I love the shade from in the summer :annoyed:

Just playing. I told a friend today that it was one of the most beautiful mornings I've ever seen. Taking a break between shoveling sessions and just taking in the peacefulness. The sky was an incredibly deep blue, contrasting the pure white snow, nothing was stirring, not even the birds and the wind was just a whisper. It was pretty awesome.

I've always said fly fishing will be my retirement sport. I enjoy fishing but I would find it fairly boring. Fly fishing is an active form of fishing that I would enjoy. Is there much fly fishing down your way ? Only certain types of fish will bite on a fly, right ? Bass, for one, if I'm not mistaken (sorry, I'm not even at novice level.. haven't fished since I was a teenager).

That's a long way to drive every time you want to go fishing. Might have to take up fishing in the Altantic, it's closer. :)

Yep... gotta keep having fun in life, right up to the last breath if we're healthy enough and lucky enough to do so. One of my sources of fun these days is gardening. From April thru October of this year, I planted 256 trees, shrubs, flowers and bulbs. One reason I bought the Tacoma, way too many trips to Lowe's and the nurseries.

 Love the blue sky/snowy combo!!! Nothing (not much anyway) prettier than that. beautiful and peaceful before the snow starts melting and steps in the snow.

    Look at those ears!!!

I was shocked we were plowed over night. Tuesday is not surprising, this is a lot different than getting streets cleared after a normal amount of snow.

We didn't see a single plow Friday or Saturday. Woke up this morning and they had been through. Just enough for two cars to pass in opp directions and it will be tight but plowed. I won't complain, I was thinking it might be Tuesday or Wednesday. Dammit, now I have to go to work tomorrow. ;)

CAM you hit the nail on the head my friend. Enjoy life, find hobbies or activities that you enjoy and don't worry if others may believe that "you're too old" or too this or that. I'm 57 and am in good health so I try to enjoy life as much as I can.

That top picture is fantastic! Best snow picture I think you can ever get, early morning sun over fresh snow before it has warmed and gets that softer edge. Well done!

At times I wish I got the track troybuilt, was afraid it would be too hard to maneuver around. But the wheeled beast on an incline can have a mind of it's own as it is, tracks may have been easier after all. Hope the sun melts all the snow while you sleep :) It would actually do that when I was in NC. Most of the time in fact!

You can fly fish for pretty much any fish out there. Tarpon on a fly is my goal someday. Lefty Kreh and Bob Clouser where pioneers in fly fishing for species other than trout. I got to know Bob well in the 80's when I was on recruiting duty in Lancaster Pa. The Clouser minnow that bears his name was designed for small mouth bass, but works well on many species. He keyed me in on how to catch catfish on the Susquehanna river at night with a dry fly. My golf club shafts are extra stiff and gathering dust, likely way too stiff for me now LOL I don't think I could flex them the way I used to. I have rolled golf balls down the ribs of my Over Under shotguns and flipped them in the air and shoot them. And can still slice with a shotgun damn it!
