I ran a spacer lift on my first tacoma, its rode stiff and crushed the bottom of my shock just like in that picture.

It is probably fine for you op, but as someone who has owned one, i would suggest spending a little more for something a little better. Just an opinion tho. Really depends on what you want to spend too.

300.00 spacer junk on a $30,000 + Truck makes no sense to me. But hey to each their own.

Depends on what your doing with the truck. My question was were they good for occasional light off road, not hardcore. 3 in lifts for these trucks range from 300 dollars to 6000 dollars. All of which give the same look. So if your looking to get a aggressive look why go crazy on some 4 thousand dollar lift you won't put to the test. It's a 32,000 dollar truck with 6k on it. I'm not looking to tear it up. Been there and done that. Plus I have a 78 ford on 36x14 toyo mud terrains. If I want to sling mud I will do it in that. I am leaning towards ome anyways because it seems to be a good lift for the long run but you guys on here that bash spacers because you have some long travel shit make no sense. Would you put a racing slick on a car you don't intend to race?

That's not why anyone bashes spacers. They bash spacers cause it's detrimental to the truck. And it will ride like crap. The more money you spend the better the ride. An OME lift will work perfect for you. That's the right way to do things. The guys who spend 6k for a 3 inch lift could care less about the lift and the looks part. They spend that much for the performance.

And those guys that have long travel. Actually use there truck according. Try jump them, run them in the desert...etc.

I had RC lift on a 1st Gen and ride stayed the same. Took it in mud and sand, no problem. Also on a 05 FX4 no issues. Either way I'm not looking to argue with anyone just get sick of the ban wagon guys posting shit from what they read not from what they drive. I like the ome, looks like my best bet for me but I'm not going to bash anyone for what works for them.

We here at TW want to get all the drop braket lift and spacer lift off of trucks cause it isn't the right way to do things. Not cause we are on some band wagon.

Sorry op, but as hard edged and argumentative as rock lobster is on this thread and many others, he almost always speaks the truth and will defend it till the end. While he may not present it in a way that is desireble by people such as yourself, he is actually good at giving proper advice.

Yeah rock lobster is being a bit of a D bag. But to those of you that added both positive and negative input that ACTUALLY had this lift. Thank you. At this point I like the ome lift.

You get what you pay for, and there's a reason spacer lifts are by far the cheapest option.

I don't get the "it will ride like crap" argument. Like I said, I've had spacers on 4 different toyotas and I couldn't tell any difference in the ride. I've heard dozens and dozens of other people who actually have them say the same thing.

I guess I just don't know anything about suspension :drevil:.

OP has new shocks on his truck already. No need to buy another set at this point.

i have the 2 inch lift spacer and 1 1/2 block in the rear. Truck rides EXACTLY like it did the day it rolled off the showroom floor. Just my experience with it. To each their own.

When your ass goes from a pleasent comfy ride to numb and achy the moment you put on your spacer lift and add a leaf.

That being said i did have the over the coil version rather then the over the top plate version. It preloaded the spring to get the ride height.

Which is exactly how 5100's achieve lift using the stock coils. ;)

Stacked spacer lift, 22x12 wheels with stretched 33's, tow mirrors, bull nuts.
I had a spacer lift on my '09. It wasnt horrible on the street but it was so stiff I swear it would want to pull up a rear tire going into an off camber parking lot. Screw a spacer lift.
